Stayed here for 1 night 9/2/06. Requested a quiet room and got one. They have amenities from Australia for your hair, lotion. In my room there was a free bottle of water and an apple.

Parking is 15/night. But if you pass the hotel entrance and go through the light there is free parking on weekends as previous poster mentioned. It also looks like to the left of the light that there is free parking.

Check in and out a little slow, since no one at the front desk. Checkin is almost immediately to your left when you come in.

Good channel selection on the TV. Free HiSpeed internet in room. Also free WiFi.

Very nice hotel.

I thought it was a decent enough place. Real close to BART, and the workout facilities are complimentary so that was a bonus. Only "bad" things really were, not much goin on within walking distance, and it's about 40 minutes ride on BART to the city, and about 30 to Downtown Oakland.

Cabs to downtown run about $15 but there's lots to do.

As far as the rooms go, they're spacious enough for a business traveler or a couple.

The rates were a little steep, but got a killer deal thru one of the online sites, and was more than satisfied.

Also, when the air conditioner wasn't working in the room, the staff sent up a maintenance man within 30 minutes. And when the problem wasn't fixed to my liking, they switched rooms and were very apologetic.

What's been said about the front desk, being small is right. Should you show up at prime check in or check out times, it gets pretty cramped.

Stayed at the Rensaissance ClubSport frequently in Fall 06 for business. It is a great place to stay if you have business in Walnut Creek or towns East of there. I wouldn't recommend the hotel if you have to go to far West of there because the traffic heading towards Oakland and San Fran is brutal. However if you are going somewhere Bart accessible then the hotel is great because the Bart station is a only a short walk. The facilities at the hotel are excellent. There is a full service gym attached to the hotel which guests can use for free. It has many swimming pools, hundreds of exercise machines, a basketball court, racquetball, and many classes. The rooms are comfortable, modern and well maintained, however the walls are kind of thin so you can hear noise from other rooms. The restaurant is decent and has pretty good food, which you can also get through room service. The best part of the hotel is the staff, all of whom are warm, friendly, courteous and go out of their way to really make you welcome. The only downside to the hotel is the fact that you have to pay $15 a night to valet park your car. Sometimes there is a wait in the morning as well when retrieving your car. The location is great with many great restaurants, shopping and movie theaters within a ten minute drive.

“Surprisingly Good for Kids!”

This is a great place to go if you like to work out, want a quiet place to rest after business or especially if you have kids. I came there as a business traveler with a baby (not a category Priceline supports), and found, to my delight, that they have childcare. If you are a guest in the hotel, you can leave any child over 6 months old at the childcare for $5 an hour for up to 3 hours!! Every day! It was a nice break for me. The food is good. The people couldn't be more friendly and helpful. And it is a beautiful, nice place, where they think of lots of extras like an apple in your room and very cushy beds w/ down comforters. I highly recommend it!

They didn't like it but you can get around the mandatory valet parking by not leaving your car there at all. Easy to do if you use the BART lot across the street (I had no problems leaving my car there overnight). They didn't charge me for the valet or anything extra and I had a GREAT experience there!!

There is nothing much within walking distance but you can drive 5 minutes to downtown Walnut Creek, which is a nice place to have lunch and shop.

We stayed overnight at this property for a Saturday night wedding in Orinda. My wife and I decided to splurge and stay closer to the wedding site so we didn't have to drive home afterwards. Surprisingly, we were able to get the Renaissance for $113 with a AAA discount. Outside first impression was nice but nothing distinguishing. You do have to pay $15 overnight parking fee with the valet which I thought was silly given the large parking structure behind the hotel. Inside, the hotel was very nice with the elevator and the hallways feeling very boutique-like. One strange aspect was that the checkin/reception was one small nondescript table. The only reason I knew it was a checkin was that someone else was checking in before us. The rooms were bright and very cute with spa-like bathroom and amenities. My favorite part of the hotel is the Club Sport affiliation, allowing guests to use its facilities, including 3 different swimming areas, racquetball and squash courts, fitness classes and an excellent gym. I only used the exercise equipment area which includes personal LCD televisions that made your workout pass by quickly. If you prefer nature, there is a trail for runners and bikers less than 5 minutes walk acroos the street. Morning checkout with the television makes it a breeze to leave on your schedule. I would recommend calling for your car 5-10 minutes before your departure.
