“So many choices and all were wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

On our first visit, we wanted to sample a variety of items from the menu. Vanessa's is primarily Vietnamese Fusion small plates. Are you confused? Don't worry - the menu is straightforward and offers lots to choose from! A delicious filet mignon salad with a ginger, miso type dressing - melted in your mouth! My daughter, a crab fan, wanted the crab sandwich, which they volunteered to split into 3 hearty portions - lots of crab with melted mozzarella - what's not to like?? Ahi poke, salmon carpaccio, shrimp spring rolls....and those jumbo prawns with garlic noodles. Perfectly cooked udon type noodles with shrimp you have to cut into pieces - they are so big! There are many non-fish items too - we just prefer fish and shellfish. Wonderful anniversary celebration with my family! We will definitely return - we still have so many more dishes to try!

“A truly "happy" hour (or two) at Vanessa's”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

I get here about twice a month and recently brought out of town guests to Vanessa's for their 'happy hour' menu. Not only are the drinks unique and tasty, but the 'tapas' include Vietnamese standards and some wonderful dishes like garlic fries! The staff is very attentive without being pushy and the area for happy hour seating area is comfortable and allows for conversation.

The food is delicious, tapa style. The decor is modern and has a large bar. My favorite dish is the roated quail, it is yummy!,

“One of my top 10 in Walnut Creek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The food is very good and so are the drinks. Taco Tuesdays is nice, three fish Tacos and a margarita for $10 good value. Creative dishes.

“Wonderful food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

The food at this place is wonderful. We had several small plates and they were so tasty. The ingredients they use are so fresh. Everything we had was full of flavor and left me wanting more. We had the shaking beef salad, chicken wings, salt & pepper shrimp, and the quail (which I did not eat). I would highly recommend the beef salad. Our serve, which was the bartender, was very nice and attentive. I can't wait to get back. Park across the street in the garage.
