“Mariscos Las Palmas Satisfies On All Levels”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

Unassuming on the outside, once you walk through the doors Mariscos Las Palmas exceeds all expectations on many levels: ambience, price, variety, flavor, service and cleanliness. Don't miss this hidden gem in Vista, California. The melding of traditional flavors is exceptional without the overpowering and excessive use of sodium that seems so prevalent in most Mexican restaurants these days. After a most satisfying meal, your final surprise awaits you when the check is delivered. You'll think there's been some mistake in tallying the amount owed. It's way too inexpensive! Guess again...... it's correct and gentle on your wallet. How often does that happen? Tell 'em Charlie sent ya' and prepare yourself for one of the best Mexican meals available in SoCal. Muchas gracias!!

“Put this place on your "to do" list!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

We went here because we had a coupon. It is not really near our home, but we like to try new places. It was AWESOME! Loved everything...the chips and salsa are fantastic. We had a bean/cheese/rice burrito, coloroado chicken plate, and lobster enchilada plate. All of them were fantastic. They have a diverse salsa bar and extensive menu options. We had so many leftovers we will be eating them for days. The ONLY negative was the service...it was a bit slow. We had to almost beg to get our check and pay. But it was a Sunday morning and obviously busy. This is a small little restaurant but definitely worth the wait. We will be going back very soon. Clean restrooms and hot, delicious food.

“Excellent food and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Great place for sea food! The food is fresh and very tasty. Great customer service. Nice salsa bar. The Aguachile and Ceviche are excellent. They also have your standard Mexican food dishes (Enchiladas, tacos... etc) Negra Modelo on tap is a plus. Good prices too.

“Outstanding Mexican (seafood) with last Century's prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

Es Magnifico...
This little place is nearly hidden in North San Diego county in Vista, CA. Its obscure location at the end of a cul-de-sac in a multi-business strip makes it a little hard to find ---but it's well worth the search. The food is absolutely FaNtaStiC and not sloppily thrown onto a plate like you'll find in many Mexican restaurants --- but always fresh and hot, flavorful, and cheap! There's a salsa bar with 6 unique tasting salsas. Recently refurbished with new furniture at the booths it also has added a small bar at the back. There are a few flat screens in the restuarant and occasionally you'll get to watch Mexcian "Novelas" (soaps) or just sporting channels. The staff is bilingual and friendly, and the kitchen is suprisingly fast. Here's what my familia has sampled: CALIFORNIA BURRITO: Carne asada, sour cream, cheese, and potatoes (half of this was for take-out). Two grilled FISH TACOS, soft corn tortillas with white sauce, fresh shredded cabbage, salsa and cheese & beans and rice. CALDO de REZ: a huge bowl of roast meat, potatoes, carrots, celery in a soup broth, with tortillas. COMBINATION PLATE with 2 enchiladas and a chicken taco, beans and rice. All prices are very reasonable (under $8) with many types of beverages and they even have good desserts: FLAN!

Recommendation: To find this wonderful little restaurant in Vista California, turn right on to Townsite Drive at the Jack-in-the-Box at 777 E. Vista Way and go to the end of the cul-de-sac.
Parking is plentiful.

Bring your appetite --- the gigantic oval-shaped plates are filled to the edges with great and inexpensive authentic Mexican cuisine. But don't fill up on the house salsa. It can be addictive but muy delicioso!!!
