“Indoor pool view also means the room smells like chlorine”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 15, 2013

While I appreciate that they even have an indoor pool - we were given a room that has windows overlooking the pool and it smelled faintly of chlorine. While not enough to ask for a room change, I fired up the a/c which helped with air circulation (can't open the window obviously). Otherwise, the bed was great; selection of pillow types (I love this feature); room was clean, tv worked fine. Nice big bathroom and shower was clean. Front desk was efficient and pleasant.

Room Tip: Of you are sensitive to smells - ask for a room that doesn't front on the pool.

Stayed here one night on the first night of a trip. Noticed many bed bug bites during my meeting the next day as it took them a few hours to puff out on my skin where they happened. There were many more when I got undressed that night that I found. There is no question that this happened at this hotel as some of the areas like in my shoes had been covered since leaving the hotel that morning. These were definitely bed bug bites as they follow the 3 bites in a row pattern and there were many.

I have addressed this with hotel management but they played the standard policy of denial and citing all their measures to prevent bed bugs. I guess this is mainly due to them getting in even more hot water by showing an admission of knowledge of this or that their hotel is responsible. Then it would open them up to more liability - so in the end, even though I reported it properly to management, they denied and refused to communicate past their initial form letter denial.

So word of caution and be warned. I would not stay there again.

Thank you for the information you provided regarding your stay with us on February 19th 2013. I want to reassure you that we take all claims of this nature seriously as we do not want any unpleasant incidents to ever occur.

Due to the fact that you informed us 6 days after checkout via Holiday Inn’s national guest relations website, we were not able to immediately dispatch SteriTech, our pest control upon your checkout. However, after receiving the information we immediately called SteriTech, who inspected the room the same day that we were notified. The official report from them shows no 'pest' activity and was documented in a report we submitted to guest relations per their request. Unaware of your concerns, we continued renting the room as normal during those 6 days from your check out date up until your notification on February 26th 2013 and to date no guest has informed us of any issues with the room.

In addition, housekeeping is also trained to look daily for any suspicious activity every time the rooms are cleaned and again when the rooms have their final inspection before they are released to be rented. We have also purchased what is called BB Alert about 2 years ago. It is a system that can help notify us of any activity well before a problem may occur.

I do not want to discount your claim. I only want to reassure you that we did everything possible to verify your concerns. If you have further questions please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

We stayed here for a night to visit the Sequoia Park. The distance to the park was longer than we had expected, about an hour. The room was comfortable and clean. We had a very nice dinner in the cafe California. We found breakfast was a bit expensive, it costs almost as much as dinner!

The hotel is located adjacent to a large park which is a definite plus. There are tennis courts directly across the parking lot. I found the park a nice place to go for a run. The hotel is fairly large and has 2 buildings. They have an indoor pool which is available all year as well as an outdoor one that is open seasonally. The front desk staff were very pleasant. The rooms were large and very nice. There was a microwave and refrigerator in the room. The beds were comfortable and had both soft and firm pillows to choose from. The bathroom was large and nicely appointed. I had breakfast included in the room rate and they offered a nice buffet with a wide variety of items to choose form. This hotel is on the west end of the city so a car would be necessary to get to area restaurants, etc. During the summer months there is a shuttle stop which takes people up to Sequoia National Park for $15 and has several stops once inside the park. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the south side are quieter - away from the highway

This HI location is slightly outside the town. However, it's offers easy access to the freeways. It is large conference center style hotel with various rooms durable for meetings, good restaurant, bar and pleasant crowd.
Rooms are average HI quality with exception for the executive option.
I would recommend this hotel in case Marriot is overbooked.

We stayed a few nights at this hotel because we had an all star football game for the kids. It was very nice and a convenient location. The mall and a lot of restaurants are just a few exits up. They were doing some work on the road near but the hotel had an indoor and outdoor pool which is always a plus with the kiddo's. It was clean and a little worn in the Bathroom area but comfortable.

Room Tip: Rooms probably towards the back may be a little quieter but I had no problem since I was with kids a...

We stayed one night here on our way back from South Lake Tahoe. This hotel is approx. 5.5 hours from Tahoe so it makes a good stopping point when traveling with kids.

We booked two adjoining rooms (rm. 133 a double queen, and 135 a king suite).

When we arrived, I was a bit concerned as there was quite a lot of noise from the singer/band at the bar and our rooms were on the same floor. When we got to the rooms however, it was completely quiet.

The rooms and beds were very comfortable. The wi-fi worked well, and the newer flat-panel TV's were nice.

We ate dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant and the restaurant staff was absolutely wonderful (especially Jose, our waiter for dinner). We arrived at the hotel at about 8:15, and the restaurant closes at 9:00, so we were the last ones in there. Jose made a special point to make sure that they didn't clear away the salad bar until we were done eating. Not many places would go that extra bit for you. It was very much appreciated.

The next day, the front desk graciously provided us with a later checkout so we could spend a little extra time enjoying their indoor pool and spa.

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We noticed that there were several rooms that face the indoor pool. These would probably get loud...
