“Home away from home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2014

When I come home to visit my parents my family and I usually stay at this hotel. They know us by now. I want to thank all the staff for their kindness and friendly manner especially Kim. I was upgraded this past weekend for free and the air conditioner was turned on for me before I arrived so that my room would be cool. Those small gestures really count!!! The hotel is comfortable, in a good location and breakfast is good. Thanks again.

Room Tip: less noise on the third floor

My cousin and I stayed here Thursday - Friday for our annual cousin's retreat. She flew in from Idaho and we used Visalia as our home base for visiting family, relaxing and catching up . We arrived early evening, opened the door (we had the 3rd floor suite which faced west) only to be hit by a wall of heat instead of a cool welcoming environment. We chose the suite so we would have a comfortable area for visiting, moving about & separate sleeping accommodations. Instead of settling into our room to visit as planned we turned on the AC in both rooms and escaped to the balcony to wait for it to cool down enough to be able to sit indoors which took a good hour. Upon checkout I told the clerk I understand keeping all of the rooms cool would not be necessary but reserved rooms should be cooled/heated before check-in so the accommodations are walk-in ready. The staff was nice, check-in very easy and the room clean, well appointed but just too hot to enjoy. Somewhat disappointing after waiting a year for our get-together.

Room Tip: West balcony had high road noise, ask for room facing easti if you want to sit n the balcony and vis...

We come to Visalia every year for a Statewide Convention. The hotel staff is endlessly patient with the girls (who are between 10 - 20, and even think ahead enough to put extra tables and chairs into the breakfast room.

We spent two days at this hotel while visiting the Sequoia National Park and King Canyon National Park. It was a little over an hour drive to see the General Grant tree.

The staff at the hotel was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast area was large and was well stocked with hot and cold food. Our room was a suite with a living area (with couch, TV, computer desk, sink, microwave, and refrigerator). The bathroom was spacious and the bedroom area was large with a king bed, dresser, TV, end tables, and a chair.

We would most definitely stay there again if in town.

I had an amazing stay here, its so refreshing to come to a nice clean bed from a long drive. Staff was great. Vincent was busy on his feet making sure everyone had a good breakfast. He even went as far as serving cereal for a guest cause her hands were full. More hotels need to hire more staff like Vincent.

First, I don't know why people are complaining about freeway or airport noise, inside the room was very quiet for us. The airport isn't that close and is very small, not used much. Anyway, my partner and I stayed here for his family reunion in town. We always choose a hotel based on the cheapest price with best reviews. We paid $85 a night with AAA for a Friday and Saturday night here. The young lady who checked us in on June 13th was very nice and polite, and the hotel lobby was nice and clean. Our room was a bit larger than average, and a very comfy bed and pillows. I don't know who makes their pillows, but these are nice, unlike the usual for a chain like this. In the morning the ladies cleaning the rooms all spoke and greeted us, and the breakfast was pretty good with the usual variety of hot and cold choices. The nicest part was when the lady working the breakfast area went around to all the guys eating and wished each of us a happy fathers day on Sunday morning! I wish I got her name, she is a sweetheart and deserves recognition for doing a great job in there, very attentive! We did use the outdoor pool and jacuzzi, perfect temps for both, cool pool, and hot jacuzzi. Keep your rates good, and staff happy, and we'll be back. They're all doing a good job for your hotel!

Room Tip: this hotel had 3 floors, choose floor 3 for the least foot traffic noise.

We arrived on sunday very worn out from our travels the staff was super friendly and they gave us a nice suite on the 1st floor so my wife wouldnt have to go up any stairs. Also they have a great breakfast of eggs sausage and potatos and u can get cereal ifyou want that. The room was clean and best of all the bedroom had a locking door so that the kids could sleep in the fold out couch while we had a nice king size bed. There were 2 a/c units to so we could keep our room cooler then the kids anyway it was all for 100 a night. Awesome value.

Room Tip: We had the santa barbara room
