“This place is a gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2009

This place is the best value for the price! Staff is friendly and accommodating. Rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Towels are thicker than you'd expect. The breakfast is awesome! You get covered parking, a microwave, fridge and wetbar sink, and basically 2 rooms. Great restaurants and shops are within walking distance. The rooms facing Acequia St. are very quiet. I'm definitely staying here again!

I stayed here for business in the area and would stay again. This hotel provides excellent extras such as free covered parking, free high speed internet, free pass to a local gym, and free breakfast. It is a good middle of the road hotel, not fancy but very adequate. All the staff from the front desk to breakfast staff are very friendly and accomodating. The front desk gave my co-worker who was not staying at the hotel a parking pass so we could leave one car in covered parking during the day. The hotel is in an excellent location in down town for good restaurants and shops. The room had a fridge, microwave and small safe. The room was clean and the bed was okay, not uncomfortable and fine for the price you pay for the room. The breakfast was not fancy, but was very convenient and quick, before heading out. The only negative I had was something in the room caused my allergies to act up, maybe dust, as I was stuffed up the whole time I was in the room. Overall this hotel is a good value as a mid-range hotel.

We've stayed here before (son lives in Visalia) and we will stay here again. This place is just nice!

I love the FREE parking structure that has a guard roming about to make sure my car is safe.

I really like the FREE breakfast, not a bar, but a great selection of cereals, eggs, sausage, fruit, waffles, bagels, drinks, etc. More than the 'normal' Comfort Inn offerings.

The room was just excellent, we had a suite that had a hide-a-bed couch and 2 TVs...plenty of room for us.

I am a member of AMA and they provide a very good discount for Comfort Inn (I paid $80/night for the suite).

I would recommend this to anyone, it's right in the 'downtown' section across the street from the Convention Center.

  • Liked — Parking and Breakfast (both FREE)
  • Disliked — Nothing, no disappointments at all.

We had a nice large room with 2 queens. There was a separate sitting area with a sofabed and work desk separated from the queen beds by the bathroom. Two TV's, fridge + microwave. Parking is provided in a covered parking structure shared with municipal parking next door. Great to keep the car out of the hot summer sun. Best of all the hotel is located right next to Main Street where all the restaurants in the town of Visalia are located. Clean rooms, friendly staff, reasonable price, can't ask for more.

Stayed here only one night while visiting family in the area. However, I found this hotel to be one the the nicest I have seen in a while. Booked a 2 queen suite with a sleeper sofa. The sofa was actually in a separate room, (great when traveling with your mother in law too). Check in was good desk persons where all very nice. Early check in without a problem.

The morning breakfast was fantastic! Full breakfast with eggs, biscuits and gravy, bacon and a whole lot of other fine breakfast foods. The whole family enjoyed the breakfast and the gal working the room was very nice.

Room cost was right around 100.00 per night with tax. Factor in the free breakfast for 5 lets say 50 bucks, net room cost would be about 50.00. Now for that price pound for pound you can't go wrong.

Only negative point was elevator was slow for only a 4 story hotel there should be easy access stairs as well to combat the one elevator.

  • Liked — It was a suite and had a free breakfast
  • Disliked — elevator was too slow

I stayed here in March on my way to the Grand Sequoia Park. It is a nice hotel, very clean with upgraded linens, not the standard low-quality sheets. There was a fridge and microwave in the room which was nice for leftovers from my dinner. They had free high speed internet and it was nice to be able to check my email. There was a separate sitting area in the room with another TV. The breakfast was great, with a huge selection of food.

The front desk staff was friendly and let us check in early. A word of advice-ask to stay on the side of the hotel that faces Main St...you do NOT want to face the courtyard unless you are a very light sleeper. The courtyard of the hotel faces the backside of a brewpub that is very noisy. It is also right next to a city parking ramp that was also noisy. The whirlpool was also in this area (outside) and it looked...scary...there is really no other way to describe it.

I would stay here again if the price was right and I could get a room that does not face the courtyard.

  • Liked — The nice linens on the beds
  • Disliked — The noise

This was a great hotel to stay at if you are visiting Visalia for business. The location of the hotel is right behind the main downtown strip which gives you plenty of restaurants to choose from for dinner. The staff is friendly, the rooms are comfortable and large. The breakfast is excellent and they have a "managers meeting" on Wednesday nights with free drinks and starters, which is a definate plus!

Since my company only allows a $100 budget for rooms per night, I was able to stay here on all of my visits. I feel as if the rooms are as high of quality as such rooms I've stayed in at Embassy Suites, Marriots, and other large luxury hotels.

I plan on staying here when I visit in the future.
