“Nights can be noisy”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

In most ways, the Comfort Suites in downtown Visalia would be a good place to stay -- and maybe our complaint isn't typical of most nights in downtown Visalia. Nevertheless, I think it's fair to report that we had a miserable Sunday night/Monday morning here, due to incessant and high-level outdoor noise. The principal problem was a street sweeper that went up-and-down the downtown streets, making a noise like a jet plane. This lasted from (roughly) midnight to 4 a.m., off-and-on, far and near. Almost as bad was trash trucks lifting, dumping and banging down multi-yard steel dumpsters, right behind the hotel........went on for over an hour, can't imagine how there could have been so many bins to dump. This place might be quiet many nights, but not while we were there.

We just spent four days here. What a nice place to stay. The room was big and comfortable with two TVs, one in the sleeping are and one in the living room area. We had good water pressure and the in room coffee was actually not bad. The included breakfast was above average and had a good selection. Also the staff was very polite and respectful. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

The Comfort Suites is located across the street from the Visalia Convention Center. If you have business downtown or attending a convention event this is your choice. The hotel shares a parking garage with the local businesses. They serve a decent morning breakfast with the usual fare of cereals, waffles and eggs. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The cable TV offers a great selection of entertainment. The only complaint was the predawn deliveries and the city police sirens that interrupt sleep. Management should plan better coordination of these hotel deliveries so early in the morning. This trip was all business so eating nearby the hotel had a lot of choices within walking distance and I felt secure walking back at night. Overall above average for a 3star hotel.

The room was large with a free breakfast. Three of us split the room with two beds and a hide-a-bed for $90. There were two TVs and a refrigerator. We were told the hotel across the street was significantly more expensive. The breakfast had a large menu. Our group felt it was a good value and it met our needs.

I stayed at the Comfort Suites during the World Ag Expo.

Pros: spacious rooms, with mini living room and bedroom areas, flat screen TV's, clean, fairly comfortable bed, pretty quiet, free breakfast and wifi.

Cons: 80's decor feels antiquated.

Our stay was very pleasant. The room was very clean and comfortable and the service very courteous and so very helpful. A nice selection of food for breakfast . My wife forget her favorite pillow and the concierge promptly mailed it home.

We stayed here on the way to Sequoia Nat'l Park. Saw the listing in our Comfort Inn guide, and made reservations as we approached the city. Was surprised and initially disappointed it was actually right downtown, but quickly found it was great. Parking is free in the attached covered garage. Rooms are large and updated. Hotel is in an older building that has been completely redone. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, and they offered you warm cookies every time you walked by. Breakfast was typical Comfort Inn fare, good and plenty of room in the dining area. Just up the block began a couple of blocks of various restaurants and bars; wide variety of foods are available and no need to drive around to find anything. We slept great and really liked the place. Glad we found it.
