Description: Lum Lum's special Dinner is the best! You can order it on the Hong Kong side if you want ....It's served family style and 2 dinners is more than enough for 3 people. The soup has great flavor and I love the dumplings. If you like chestnuts and mushrooms you'll love the cashew chicken that it comes with! The man-ly dish is the beef and snow peas but we always ask to substitute the beef and broccoli and it's the best -- beef is oh so tender and great flavor.. Lots of times we eat on the Hong Kong side just because we like the booths-- it's not as nice of decor on that side --- For a special night out the market room is fantastic with nice decor --- even the Lum Lum side is nice but more casual with the bar right there.. If you drink and like sweet try a Dragon Lady ! Also the Long Island Tea is good but a lot of alcohol! It's family owned and the husband often is in the back cooking--- and we often have his wife waiting on us rather than the help ---she always remembers what we like and has it set out for us even before we ask... .Plus they still have the dinners #1's #2's etc. if you want and lunch and dinner there is always a special . I'd give the place a world class rating for the Market area with the fine linen and decor but overall it's not super fancy in the Hong Kong area which is more family oriented and the bar area that is more singles..It's a great place for both special occasions and everyday dining Still with all the travel and places we've tried the best is still here at home in Visalia. Great food and healthy portions at a reasonable price .

“Did not get good service”

We decided to check out this restaurant, and we were not impressed. The food tasted okay, but the service was terrible. I don't think we will return.

“Didn't get what we ordered, and it was inedible”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

We were stranded at the La Quinta while our car was being repaired, and orded take out from Hong Kong, using a service called something like Take Out. Their service was awesome, quick and affordable. However, the food Hong Kong prepared was the opposite of awesome. We ordered Kung Pao Chicken, but I'm not really sure what we got, some kind of greasy, pasty, pale dish, kind of more like chow mein without noodles. The pot stickers were wretched, they were like a greasy meatball wrapped in really thick dough. The upside is that it was very inexpensive

“The meal that wasn't...”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2012 via mobile

This was a family favorite when I was a kid and lived in town, and on a recent visit with my kids I wanted to share my memories with them over a meal. We walked into an empty restaurant at dinner time...well, empty except for the very young waitress and her bff who was sitting at a corner table texting ("like, oh my gawd, really?"). The waitress said "you can sit anywhere." I then noted that the place was obviously empty. "It's like that all the time," she responded. That was enough for me. With an empty restaurant and a seemingly uninterested waitress, it was clear that this wasn't the restaurant that I remembered. A shame, really. We left.

“Great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

It was almost 10pm at night, and the restaurant was already closed. But they were still willing to serve and they served fast. The food was delicious and the amount was huge. By that time all four of us were starved after visiting Sequoia National Park. The waitress suggested us to order only 2 chow mien and one fried rice because she thought our 6 year old girl would not need a seperate dish. Sure enough, the huge mount of food made all of us stuffed and there was leftovers. It was the yummiest food I had eaten since a long time ago, and the price was only 2 thirds of that of a Bay Area Chinese restaurant. We will certainly eat in this restaurant again if we pass by Visalia in the future.

The restaurant is in an old house. It is clean with great decoration. There is smell of wood mold though.

“Always yummy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Only had an hour before our movie started. Got great service and fast service. We got great portions. We left full and still had left overs. I've been going to the Hong Kong since I was a kid and it was delicious then and delicious now...and it has stayed with the same owners for all of this time. Consistently good!
