“Very happy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

We had a very nice, spacious, clean room. The breakfast was above average. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend to families.

We stayed two nights at this hotel. This was our base for Sequoia and Kings Canyon parks. The room was very clean, spacious, quiet and comfortable. We slept well. The laundry room was right across the hall and we took full advantage of that since we like to travel light. The breakfast was wonderful and included in our stay. Quite a bit of selection and fresh as well. We took a peak at the pool area and it looked great but we were too tired from hiking to use it. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. From their recommendations, we had no problem finding a place to eat. The free wi-fi worked great. This hotel is a great value. We would definitely be staying here again.

This was a nice Hampton Inn and you can tell it is a newer hotel. I had a King room away from the elevator. It had a nice view of the pool and the carpet looked new. The bathroom was a decent size, bigger than other Hampton Inn bathrooms. Here are the two reasons I could not give this a 5 out of 5. 1.) The air conditioner was so loud that it was very hard to hear the TV over it. I would have to adjust the volume significantly over the TV when it was running and then turn it way down when it wasn't running. 2.) The bathroom towels were very small. It almost felt like I was using a hand towel instead of a bath towel when I got out of the shower each day. I am fairly petite so I can't imagine someone taller than me trying to use those towels.

I only had the breakfast one day while I was there, but it was a decent selection. The typical continental breakfast foods. The gym was small, but functional while I was there. They had a spa onsite but it was closed while I was there. It would've been nice to have been able to utilize that one day. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about restaurants in the area. I would stay here again if I ever come back to that area, just as long as the noise on the air conditioners gets fixed.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the elevator to avoid a lot of noise.

We stayed one night using a free voucher courtesy of an Hilton honors credit card, so we were positioned to get to Sequoia National Park the following day. Visalia is the nearest town to the park when coming from the south, and probably the last place with decent hotels.
I like Hampton Inns and this one was no exception. It is modern, with large comfortable rooms, a nice pool, a good breakfast included in the price, and hot drinks, cookies and fruit all day. It is worth paying a bit extra than, say, at a Holiday Inn Express.
The Inn is a couple of miles from downtown, where there are lots of places to eat. Otherwise there isn't a great deal to occupy you in Visalia.
We had downloaded an Historic sites of Visalia leaflet before we arrived, and attempted the walking tour in 105 degrees (mid-June evening - it's hot hot hot in the valley). Whoever wrote it must have a sense of homour, because every "site" was exactly that. Each building that once stood on a site had either burned down, fallen down (earthquake), or been demolished!

Recently spent two nights here and found it very clean, tidy and acceptable. Nice breakfast included in the tariff and found the staff friendly & helpful. It was a business stay so only needed the end of the day and begining of the next so suited our needs. Very comfortable bed and clean bathrooms. The only downside was a little noise by a group of younger people on a trip of some sort but minor overall.

We stayed here on our way into Sequoia NP. It was a typical Hampton Inn, always my preferred chain hotel. Clean rooms, a nice pool, and breakfast in the morning. They have a shuttle into the park if that's your thing but it is about 45 mins southwest of the park entrance. There are a ton of places to eat nearby. While we were there the hot tub was out of service and breakfast was unusually crowded with lots of trash in the dining room. The second night I was there we didn't have breakfast in the morning. Just too crowded on the fathers day weekend. Otherwise the hotel is really clean and comfortable.

As a place to stop over on route, this was fine for our trip to Sequoia and Kings Canyon.
The room was good, and the breakfast (hot and cold) was substantial.
There were a couple of issues during our stay, but they were quickly resolved.
