If all properties were as well managed and maintained as this one trip-advisor would have no one complaining. Everything shows pride of ownership. The grounds are lovely, the pool and room are clean and towels are big and fluffy. Our rate and room were both wonderful and we would be happy to return. We also enjoyed visiting the Vintage Press restaurant for a delicious meal.

Old, dirty hotel. Furniture and bedding had stains and holes.

We chose the Lamp Liter inn since it was located in mid-center California and therefore perfect for our planned trips to the nearby parks. The hotel and service was great en offered us a very pleasant stay. Beautiful gardens, clean and a superb maintenance. The location is ideal if you want to visit Yosemite or Kings Canyon or the Sequoia national park.

We stayed at this hotel for one night and chose this hotel based on good reviews and because it was a recommended hotel. The room was decent, althought the television looked like it was older than me and was broken. The front desk sent someone to fix the television- turned out the remote was broken- was not programmed and it could not be fixed. So, the channels had to be changed manually and some of the channel buttons did not work. They offered to change our room, but we figured it was for one night, and we had already unpacked, so we stayed in the room. We later discovered the light in the bathroom wouldn't turn on and when the shower was turned on, the fixtures were wobbly and water came out of the fixtures in the shower. As suggested by the man who tried to fix the television, we told the front desk about the problems the next day, hoping for some kind of a discount on the room, but were told, "Sorry- we'll tell maintenance." Then, turns out we left my daughters small blanket in the room and didn't realize it until we were 20 miles away. We called the hotel and they confirmed they had it- but wanted to charge us to ship it to us if we didn't come and pick it up. Our fault for leaving it, but thought them comping $3 shipping charge wasn't too much to ask for us putting up with the shabby room. So, we drove an hour back and forth to pick up her blanket. We should've stayed somewhere else.

We stayed at the LampLiter Hotel in early June 2006 for a family reunion. The room, hotel and service was great except for one small problem. I had a brand new IPod musical unit in my room on Saturday and on Sunday - it became missing.
Since I only had family members in my room, I could only suspect that someone from the hotel cleaning staff might have taken it. I spoke to the lady in charge of the hotel and she insisted that her hotel staff would not take such an object from my room. When questioning her, she said that there had been no recent reports of theft from the hotel.
I'll I know is that the IPod didn't grow legs and walk out of the room. I contacted the Visalia police department and they have not yet returned my call. I just wanted to know if others have had similar problems with theft from the Lamp Liter Inn.
Be very careful with any valuable items you leave in your room.
Sincerely,

Hugh W. Baca
