“Horrible Place, Do not stay here”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Do not stay here. We had online reservations, but our room was not clean at 6:00pm the night of check in. We were given another room for a huge discount of $6.00. The non-smoking room we were given had cigarette butts in the toilet. We were transfered to another room. The next room had no working cable and the connecting door lock to the next room was broken. I ask for maintenance and was informed that the desk clerk was the only employee working. This was a Saturday night in June. No manager on duty. I felt sorry for the desk clerk. He was nice and tried to apologize, not his fault.

Beds very comfortable! Pleasantly surprised!

The hotel claimed the rooms had been renovated and they did have new furniture, mattresses and head boards however the bathrooms were old and the wall paper was falling off the wall.

The service was less than stellar with the acception of the front Desk guy, John, who booked our stay-

In the morning after our over night stay I tried to get a cup of coffee at 6:55 and was told the breakfast area didn't open until 7am. Even though the area was set up and coffee was made the front desk guy would not budge.....obviously NOT a coffee drinker-

$10 extra a night for a roll away bed.

We called down for more towels and they said sure- come down and get them.

I guess you get what you pay for..... :) So for an inexpensive nights stay....the rooms were clean, the bed was comfortable and shower was hot.

I stayed in this hotel (roadhouse) on my way from San Diego to the Grand Canyon. It is more a motel stop and struck me as probably mainly used by business men travelling through the area. The staff were helpful and the room was fine. I had a problem with the bathroom taps but the misunderstanding on my part was quickly corrected diplomatically. The internet was slow and the breakfast was poor but this must all be considered in the context of the price. It met our needs (my wife and grown up daughter were with me), was clean, comfortable and just fine. I would not contemplate staying more than one night though.

We booked out room online sight unseen. Something I may never do again. Here is what we encountered and we only stayed 1 nite before we moved to another hotel.

The exterior was a bit frightening but we were willing to give it a try since the entire neighborhood seemed to be in bad shape and the website stated they were recently "remodeled".

Amount quoted online was not what was charged upon check in.

Added a second rooim for a friend with same day reservation which per online states 10% discount, if reserved same day as check in, buy did not receive discount.

When we questioned the amount, it was cheerfully corrected but the free nites stay offered was taken away. ( Corrected , but no free nite )

TV remote did not work

Iron missing from room

Wi Fi was basically non existant. Even staff member stated it didnt work unless you were in the lobby and that wasn't even a guarantee.

Shower/bath valve in tub was broken and could not be switched from shower to bath.

Pool had little furniture - 2 chairs and 1 lounge chair.

Fan in bathroom did not work.

A/C was very noisy.

Free hot breakfast was terrible. They were serving chicken fajitas ( probably something left over from the nite before) Scrambled eggs were grey, dont ask me why..... bread for toast was stale. No orange juice or fresh fruit.

Overall opinion, the staff were very cheerful and pleasant. The hotel itself needs alot of work. Needs to be closed down and not reopened until the rooms have "really been remodeled".

Go with your second choice for hotels if traveling. I would not suggest this one, sorry.....

The hotel is acceptale in the overall, but it is noticably old and the appearence and the cleaness of the rooms is not great. The breakfast is quite poor.

Stayed one night while travelling North. Very helpful and efficient staff, clean and spacious room, new furniture (small fridge, microwave and coffee maker included), very comfortable beds, new bedding and linens, hot fresh breakfast of two types of scrambled eggs, not-deep fried (oven backed) breakfast potatoes, toasts, sausage, milk, juices, and 2 kinds of cereal was an added bonus. The room with 2 breakfasts is an absolute bargain... all taxes included $63.13!!! Couldn't beat it. Free fast WiFi included, too. It's not the Ritz but you're not paying Ritz prices. Do not hold any score to the reviews from back in 2006 through mid 2009. They have clearly gone through a renovation. Lobby was nicely furnished and the area and hotel is as safe as back home. My suggestion is to ask for a room at the back (pool side) as the street is a busy one and ambulances may be heard. Can't comment on longer stays or the area around the hotel as we drove in at night and left early to get the road again but I highly recommend the place for a stop through.
