My wife and I celebrated an anniversary here recently and enjoyed the experience. Before you read on, there is something I should make clear – this is definitely a seafood restaurant (and a good one at that). There are maybe two or three options for the non-fish eater, so take that into consideration before selecting the Bluewater Grill.
The dining room is spacious and comfortable, which encourages relaxed conversation and laughter. There also seems to be a pretty lively Happy Hour here. So, if you’re looking for an intimate, quiet high-dining experience, this is not the place.
It’s easy to get off to a good start here – the restaurant features a large wine list, an oyster bar with some interesting selections, and an appealing list of appetizers, soups and salads. Frankly, I would come back just for the crusty sourdough bread they bring to your table! The list of entrees is long and impressive; it also changes regularly based on the daily catch. My wife’s citrus plank salmon was moist and aromatic, while my miso-glazed tilapia had an interesting blend of sweet and savory elements. Our meals were definitely not run-of-the-mill. In addition, the service was friendly and attentive.
Despite its somewhat casual environment, the Bluewater Grill is definitely not what most people would call inexpensive. However, we both felt we enjoyed a very nice meal at a fair price.
