“No One Will Tell You There Is No Elevator”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 2, 2010

This is a very clean hotel near the freeway and several very busy streets. Although one person rated this location as very quiet, I could not disagree more. We had to keep the fan on the air conditioner going all night just to drown out the traffic noise.

Since the free breakfast is only from 6:30 am to 9:00 am, you can not even think about sleeping in a little and still get their breakfast. Anyway, I would highly recommend the BLACK BEAR RESTAURANT about 3/4 mile down the street for one of the biggest and best breakfasts you will ever eat. Free is not always the best.

The only real complaint I had was the fact that neither the hotel staff or the website made any mention that this two story hotel does not have an elevator. If you are elderly, with bad knees, and trying to wrestle a 50 pound piece of luggage up a flight of stairs, you get some idea why I was not too happy about this "small detail". Granted they do have all of their "accessible" rooms on the ground floor, but I am sure they are probably sold first since no one wants to fight the stairs.

There are too many other really good hotels in this particular area to pick this one.

I stay at BW Tulare everytime I come here for business. The room is clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast is great. It is close to hwy 99. You can find all kind of restaurants around in the area.

We routinely stay at this Best Western when attending race events in Tulare. The hotel is neat and clean including the guest rooms. The room rates include an extensive breakfast with hot food. We highly recommend this hotel to couples, families and solo travelers.

I stay here all the time whenever I'm in the area for work. Never a problem finding parking for my truck, love the bar, pool and jacuzzi area is kinda small but it's nice and there's a gazebo where you can barbeque. The hotel is close to the freeway and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby.

I spent three nights here on a business trip with co-workers, each of us had our own room and experiences were the same. Like the title says, the "4 C's" were all there. Like all Best Westerns, this hotel had FREE High Speed Internet access; had an extra ethernet cable at the front desk. Very close to freeway access.

Did I mention the Internet access was FREE? I've stayed at hotels that cost over $250 a night, and internet access was an extra $19.95 per day.

Our spacious rooms had microwave, fridge, under-the-window type air conditioner that worked well, 'old-fashioned' CRT-type TV's, decent BR toiletries, plush and newer towels and linens, no bad odors, and quiet hallways during the night. The AM breakfast was good and diverse, including vegan and diet options. Bed comfort was 'good' but not excellent - I reserve that rating for the high end Mariotts & Westins.

One collegue of ours couldn't get a room here, and had to stay next door at the Comfort Inn. He paid similar price - and after visiting us, seeing our rooms, and the AM buffet, he said he wished he had booked at this Best Western instead.

Very friendly bartender in the lounge. Was serving 'Cowboy Margaritas' - (make a regular margarita, then add a splash of Jack Daniels).

Really liked my quick stay here at the Best Western Town and Country Lodge. The staff was extremely attentive, particularly at the front desk and during the breakfast. The rooms were very clean. I got a GREAT night's sleep because it was so quiet--and I had colleagues staying at the Comfort Inn (not clean!) and the La Quinta (not quiet!) so I feel like I got the best accommodations--and it was a lot better value than the Quality Inn when I was making my reservation.

It was also nice to get a good, hearty cooked-to-order breakfast. I would come back.

We always stay at Best Western Town & Country Lodge when traveling to Tulare and the surrounding area. The hotel is conveniently located off Hwy 99 and there are several shopping and eating establishments in the area and a great Outlet Mall. The hotel is pleasant, quiet and the staff are always eager to assist and answer any questions you might have. They show a sincere interest in the quality of your stay.
