This isn't the worst place i've ever eaten, but its not the best. I love their happy hour, but the food is very dry usually, and they need some serious work on the decor. I think thats adds to the atmosphere and the overall experience of a restaurant. So until they do some updating, I probably won't be back.
Las Playas Restaurant is a good typical Mexican restaurant.
Indeed, when we have been there with my family, we were the only non Hispanic customers.
Staff is friendly (waitress trying to learn French with us), service is fast. Food is quite good and not expensive. Choice is large.
A good experience, if you are not too afraid to have dinner with a group of young guys drinking (very fast) their Corona beers with some salt put on their hand.
Try it if you are on the way from or to Sequoia NP.
