“Good value, clean nothing special hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

This was a nice experience for being a category 2 hotel. I booked an award night here, and took very few points yet it is a nice, clean hotel, has good sleep quality, standard good breakfast, fast and efficient service at the front desk, not crowded, an efficient business center. Nothing to remember being special about this hotel, but nothing wrong with it either.

We stayed here for one night on our trip to sequoia. The rooms are clean, there is free breakfast, and easy access from highway. Not too much in the area to eat of you don't like chains. For us it worked for the one night but it's just for that, one night.

The room given to us was really comfortable and the breakfast offered was very decent. The main problem I would have with going back there is that I made my reservation through a third party website and paid with that website. Nonetheless, they charged my credit card at their regular fare and two weeks later, I still have to deal with the issue, as they consider it's my responsibility to fix this with the third party and not theirs. Hopefully they will refund me soon but this is getting very frustrating and makes me reconsider staying with Hampton Inn altogether in the future.

Stayed again at this Hampton Inn and had no major complaints. Room was spotless, staff friendly to the point of offering ice cream during the hot Tulare summer. Breakfast was great and I regret that I didn't have time to enjoy the pool.

Got an excellent AAA rate, my HH VIP ammenity was in the room and am looking forward to staying at another new Hampton Inn the Peru Illinois area in a few weeks. Please continue the "great" work!

Room Tip: Rooms are cooler on the east side of the hotel.

My family and I found this hotel a few years ago and stay at least once a year. As a diamond member with the Hilton brand, I expect the best- this is the best. The rooms are clean and the staff goes above and beyond every time. They off a BBQ, which in itself that is a rarity. We went to cook and it was of propane. Not only did the manager insist that they fill it- the offered complimentary drinks while we waited. They also off complimentary snacks and beverages to all when they are doing work in the lobby. On our first night, this last stay the air happened to be out. They gave us another room to stay in, came up the next day to fix the air and compt. that first night and the second day, too. It is hard to pick one staff memeber when they are so great. In the future, I am sure they will be gone. For staff that great is always on the way up through the Hilton chain. However, they have always been so great to us that I will always seek them ot at this property or wherever they may go. Thank you again to Joe & his entire staff for another great stay.

Just stayed here. Booked 3 rooms. Not the best experience. When we checked in the man at the front desk was not very professional nor friendly. When we got to the rooms one of them smelled like cigarette smoke...when we opened the bathroom it was worse! While we were there the hotel was not very full. Surely the hotel could have marked this room as unusable until properly cleaned and the smoke smell removed.

Rooms were very dated, dirty corners, and the air conditioner smelled like cow manure. (Actually, the whole city smells like that, so I can't blame the hotel too much.)

On a plus, like most Hamptons the breakfast was good! Great waffles!

All-in-all save yourself the grief and drive the few extra miles up to Visalia.

We stayed overnight while making a quick visit to the Sequoia National Park and Yosemite. The location was good for a short stop. Very clean, exactly what you could expect from Hampton Inn and Suites. Short walk to the outlet mall located across the highway.

Thank you for your superb review! I hope you enjoyed your trip to Yosemite & Sequoia National Park. We recommend hiking the “Trail of 100 Giants” around Long Meadow Giant Sequoia Grove. You will see some of the forest’s biggest and oldest trees. Some are 500 to 1,500 years old! As for shopping at our Premium Outlet Center …it’s hard to not leave Tulare without something good!
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback….
