We so wanted to love this restaurant as it is very hard to find a decent place to eat out in Truckee. Upon entering the restaurant, it is a very pleasant, festive bar area where you wait until your table is ready. The dining room is laid out perfectly and creats a very pleasant dining experience.
Unfortunately, every item on the menu that we ordered was *off* in taste as the chef seemed to want to be creative and experimented. The appetizers of the wedge salad and the cheese/tomato bruschetta were very bland. The main course of the steak w/ fries was off in flavor as the steak had a peculiar sauce on it and the fries were drenched in oregano. The snapper that I had was huge (and awkward to eat) but the accompanying sauce was barely enough to go with a few bites. The gnochi was very nice, but again, there was an odd spice added to the sauce that was off putting. The same w/ the four meat pasta sauce on the whole wheat spaghetti.
The smores dessert, while fun to make, had homemade graham crackers that had so much cinammon, we gagged.
