“Good food & lots of it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Is it in business again? Is what my friends said when we headed off. The Inn @ Tres Pinos has been in and out of business more times than I've been through a revolving door! Who knows what type of food they're going to have when you show up - or even if it'll be open!

The food was good, atmosphere the same as it has been for 25 years. Primarily steaks and meat. Good sized servings.

It is the remote location that kills this business. It is a destination - not really for impulse eating! I wish the current owners the best of luck! Had a great meal there!

I would first like to thank you for taking the time to review our restaurant. I'm glad that you seemed pleased with the atmosphere, and food.

I do have some good news! We have not closed our door in over 23yrs. We are open Tuesday thru Sunday, regardless if we have 1 or 120 covers. Consistency is not always easy in this type of business, but we plan for it, and have been open for over 23yrs (same owners, food, etc .)
Unfortunately we have a restaurant next door that does have the revolving door syndrome, and believe us, we wish someone could make it stick!

Yes, we are a destination restaurant. as well as a restaurant that serves our locals and their families. We are proud of what we do, and hope that you come back and visit us soon!

Thank you again for your review.

“Excellent food, wonderful old building. Totally out of the way!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

We were taken to this wonderful old inn in the tiny town of Tres Pinos by our hangliding instructor Dave. Dave was very well known there and we soon found out why he frequented it so often. The food was unexpectedly great. Some of the best salmon my friend says he'd ever eaten. (He was born and raised in Seattle so that is rare praise.) Lovely wine list. Totally fun old bar where it seemed no two floorboards are actually at the same level. Friendly and knowledgeable servers. Admittedly the price seems high, but if you had the same quality food and experience in a major city restaurant where they valet your horse instead of have a railing to tie it to, you wouldnt even mention the price. (perceived value is everything in my book). We have been back twice more since the first time.

“Pricey but great”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 1, 2012

A special occasion place for us-varied menu always features at least one item beyond what we find in Hollister as well as old favorites.

“Well worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

Its a bit off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Food and service is great. Its probably the best restaurant for at least 60 miles. My wife loves the Veal Saltimbocca. The only downside is the price.
