“Love this wee place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Another brilliant Christmas getaway for the girls! Superb food - (Christmas fayre can be hit or miss - this is most definitely a big hit!) Fabulous accommodation to stagger home to after finishing off the evening in the cosy bar - the Winnie is just the most perfect home from home with lots of little touches you don't get in other places!

Off the beaten track but worth finding!

“A wonderful Treat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2012

Had a lovely evening and overnight stay in Clenaghans, such a wonderful place, so cosy and welcoming, our meal was amazing and we enjoyed a few drinks sitting by the fire , whilst listening to some of the best Irish music we have heard for a long time from a group of seisun musicians who had gathered there also. The Cottage we stayed in was so comfortable and very well equipped, loved the breakfast welcome pack, no rushing or hurrying around here, you will leave all your stresses behind when you visit Clenaghans, if only for a short time it is well worth it, cant wait to visit again!! thank you so much.

“As good as it gets!”

Excellent venue for dinner, bit of craic in the bar after and bed for the night! Yet another successful Christmas dinner for our book club. All ingredients included to make good Irish breakfast the morning after!

“Excellent stay once again!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I had raved so much about Clenaghans to family members that they asked me to book an overnight stay with meal so they could see what all the fuss was about. So our party of three arrived last Friday evening and were immediately greeted by the friendly staff at Clenaghans. We were shown to the Sir John Laverty straight away and reminded that our table for dinner was booked at 7pm. We were able to unpack and start unwinding from the hectic week before heading to the restaurant. As always, the restaurant was busy but thankfully, owner Clare has followed the "less is more" philosophy when it comes to table layouts and we didn't feel like other diners were sitting on top of us. My cousin and I ordered the scallops starter which was absolutely delicious whilst my other cousin went with the foie gras which she declared was scrumptious! We then went with seabass and risotto with a large selection of potato and veg between the three of us. There are no peas, cauliflower and broccoli served at Clenaghans but instead we enjoyed a winter vegetable selection of carrots, parsnips, turnips all buttery and covered in herbs. Just delicious! Clare asked did we want to move to the bar to take our dessert and coffee beside the fire which we agreed was a great idea and so we were able to sit for another full hour over our cheesecakes. The three of us were able to laugh and chat without any disruption. On making our way back to the suite, Clare introduced us to the chef, Connor and kitchen staff, so we could pass on our compliments on the meal. Once again I can't praise Clare and the staff at Clenaghan's highly enough. They make you feel so welcome and special. I will continue to write a review every time I visit Clenaghans which I foresee will be many more times over the years!
