I travel for business and am a Hilton bigot (500k points, down from 1MM). I broke my employer's travel rules in order to stay here, then got them to lower their rates to get my employer to stop complaining. I refuse to commute via the freeways and work in Torrance on assignment. The customer-facing staff tries hard to score a "10" with me, but the rest of the hotel makes it difficult to score above a 7. I've sunk about $50 into the completely useless wireless there -- don't make the same mistake. No aux inputs on the TVs, so no portable DVD players. Also, don't eat dinner in the Vintage Lounge -- you'll get your drinks, appetizer, and main course all at once, after 30 mins. The Tea Room (faux Starbucks) in the lobby must close for the day around 10am -- also useless to me. The executive lounge staff are awesome, except no coffee at night. The location has some incredible shopping in walking distance and an excellent variety of restaurants within two driving minutes.

Redondo Beach and Hermosa Beach are 10 minutes away by car, with a beach nightlife scene you'll cry over when its time to leave.

So why did I stay there for four months? The friendly staff at the front desk, sales office, and executive lounge. That, and my 10 minute commute, of course.

I'm a Hilton Honors member so maybe I got better treatment from reception, but overall it was a good stay. Parking is free in the lot and the huge mall w/Starbucks in the courtyard is right across the street.

The bed was excellent and room service/the food was good. My only complaints are the bath water could have been hotter and the shower was a little weak. Also, no fridge or mini bar - this had been removed. It was nice to have a balcony and open up the sliding door for fresh air. Lots of places to eat nearby and another shopping center on the adjacent street. I would stay here again.

NIce hotel. Good room, nice gym (for a hotel), plenty of parking, and a nice atmosphere.

i stayed here for 2 nights before going to Boston. The location is very near the LAX and also the Del Amo Mall, one of the biggest shopping centers in the USA. There are also Barnes & Noble and Borders bookstores in the area.

I would recommend this for those who want to do some serious shopping. The rooms also have internet connection at 10-12 dollars per day. You will not see a lot of hotel staff around, but there is an ever present security guard who is standing in the center part of the hotel and he sees who comes and goes.

Hilton has a much lower online room rate if you book early. They also have a non refundable rate online which is even lower and i suggest you avail of this if you are sure you will not move your schedule anymore. It comes out much cheaper than the nearby 4-5 star hotels like the Marriott nearby.
