“Good location but noisy and a bit stuffy”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2011

This time of year is a pretty busy in Perth and as such I struggled to find a hotel! However this motel came through and to be fair I was relieved! My room was a smokers room and right on the road, so a bit noisy in the early morning with the traffic. Front desk very friendly.

Room Tip: 138 was my room.

Stayed here January 2011 for 4 nights. Room was clean, and was actually able to get a smoking room (unheard of these day). Was great value for money for $130 a night and close to airport. Staff were all great.

We stayed here just for a night whilst in Perth and had the Spa room. Was very roomy and had all that was required (Shampoo, soap, bubble bath) except facewashers. Has a kitchen, large wardrobe, dining area and balcony with city views. Comfy bed too!

The staff at the front counter were lovely and helpful and very polite. Gave us an extended checkout upon request.

our room was at front of building so perfect views of city, though be aware this brings with it the traffic noise (closer to road). wasnt a problem for us as we are used to it - but something to bare in mind for those who have trouble sleeping.

Would definitely stay here again :)

Room Tip: higher level - better views of city. although rooms with balconies are nearer the road - so if you a...

Very basic accommodation. We were only staying one night and it it everything we needed. Huge bathroom with double vanity. Was much bigger than the rest of the rooms. Had all the basics that we needed. Would stay again just for the need if needed for transfer to airport as it was fairly cheap.

Very basic, mostly clean, room. 160 a night is good value for a conference when the place is booked out. Good 15-20 minute walk to burswood convention centre, further away than I'd hoped. No supermarkets within walking distance. Wifi is very expensive, no real business facilities.

Pretty basic hotel. No restaurant, no shampoo, no mini bar. Only soap and towels supplied. Nearest restaurant is a 6 minute walk away. Only refreshments are from vending machines. Bed was clean, but sheets not ironed. Corridors very noisy and distracting, can hear every word and noise. OK for a one night stay if you really need to. Not good value for the price and distance from the city.

The Great Eastern is one of those places where depending on which side of the building you stay in, effects the type of sleep your'e going to get, BIG TIME.
In July we stayed in a studio style room numbering in the 90's at the end of the building that has a garden in the centre and the rooms , about four levels, surround this garden.

It acts as an ampitheatre for every sound, We heard our neighbour on one side , doing the wild thing , for ages and I mean ages and the baby on the other side crying most of the night. We watched the same car come and go all night and streams of people coming and going from the same car. We were told it had a kitchenette some rooms do some dont and it didnt, only had a microwave. This is a very busy place and you hear every single sound. Every door closing, everything. Dont stay there if youre FIFO the next day.

And dont worry about sleeping in , once they start moving the green waste bins everyone is up. We only stay there when we cant find anything else. Its central, I found it very clean,
the cleaning ladies are lovely The swimming pool is awesome and I felt quite safe, just couldnt sleep.

There is no restaurant, They recommend the Flag Inn down the road which frankly I found "Ho Hum" because the menu was boring , go and see what you think.

Room Tip: If you want sleep ask for a room in the 140's or higher. Unfortunately theyr'e good at sayi...
