I stayed at the Country House Inn during the last weekend of September and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The room was clean and cute, and granted, it doesn't offer all of the amenities of a nice hotel room, (ie, bring your own shampoo/conditioner and hair dryer, plus no TV), but I was still very comfortable. The property is quaint and cute. The proprietress, Dianne, is wonderful and friendly. Breakfast is about as delicious as it gets. A couple warnings, however. First, Templeton is an extremely sleepy little town. There are a couple of restaurants but it's mostly a ghost town after about 9pm. If you're looking for more action you may want to try San Luis Obispo a little further south. Also, you must check in early, during normal business hours. No late check-ins here. After about 9 or 10 PM, all business lights are turned off, and the house can be next to impossible to find if you don't know the location well. No address or business sign can be seen from the road. After dinner my first night there, I passed it twice and was terrified I was driving into a private residence before I realized I had finally arrived. A wonderful little place, but not for partier/night-life types.
