“Traffic outside is the only bummer.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2010

My husband and I recently booked a suite and stayed for the weekend. The free made to order breakfasts were awesome, we had our "do not disturb" sign up so the maids left us a bag of fresh towels at our door, and the staff was very friendly. Also, the bed was pretty comfortable! The only downside was that the bedroom slider with patio faced the busy street and we heard the traffic all night long. I got earplugs for the next night and slept great. Prices were decent. Over-all a good place to stay if you're on a budget!

First the GOOD: the location is excellent to get to the wineries, Old Town Temecula and Pechanga Casino.
The BAD: Rooms are outdated, outdated furniture, t.v.'s, the ugly fluorescent lights in the bathrooms, etc. We stayed on the 4th floor and there was musty smell in the hallways. The Manager's reception on Sat. was so understaffed. One bartender was trying to handle a huge crowd of people. People had to stand in line for so long just to order a drink. The snacks were not replenished often enough and the size of the bowls used to hold the snacks were never big enough to handle these same crowds. Breakfast during the peak periods (8:30-9:30) was pretty much the same. The layout of the breakfast items was not organized well so that just to get a cup of coffee you had to break in a line that was going out the front door. Same thing if you wanted to just get a muffin. These items were right where the line of people were standing who wanted a cooked-to-order breakfast. The pre-cooked breakfast eggs, sausage and hash browns were cold and sub par in flavor. The main reason we booked with Embassy Suites was to enjoy the complimentary breakfast and happy hour. But when the quality of that is bad - why stay here. There are newer hotels right across the frwy. (Hampton Inn & Marriott) that are just as good for location.

I've been visiting this hotel for 3+ years. Rooms are nice, if small. Great location. Front desk, housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff are very friendly. But something's going on. Restaurant/bar are always out of something. Half the menu is unavailable. Drinks are hit and miss. The staff is very apolegetic, but clearly uncomfortable with constantly having to make excuses.
I've met guests (some long term) who have elected to stay at other hotels in the area due to this change in management style. Hopefully this will change.

I got a $90 per night rate, as per most Embassy Suites this included the managers cocktail reception and free made to order breakfast. I had the breakfast, but skipped the drinks both night s I was here, although the bar seem quite full both nights. Breakfast consisted of made to order eggs, sausage, toast, cereal fruit and yoghurt. Not bad, just nothing special from the usual ES.

The room was clean and seemed to have newer amenities except for the old TV's, although they played just fine. But w/ so many hotels upgrading to HDTV, I've gotten spoiled so they should consider the upgrade too.

The hotel seemed kind of full, and the first night kids were constantly running in the hall till 10 PM but were quite the next night. Rooms were not big but had a king bed desk and TV in one room, and sofa, desk, mini bar and TV in the other.

As a diamond they also gave me a few complimentary bottles of water, cokes and candy bars in my room, plus free internet normally $9.95 per day.

I would stay here again, especially if the rate was the same or less.

Slept well on comfortable bed. Good stay overall. Good facility.

The only drawbacks were either both Zenith TVs needed maintenance or the satellite feed was bad. And then second, the vent in the bathroom was a bit loud on the 5th floor. But we were able to shut the slider door to minimize that. The manager's reception, though free, should be understood that e.g. we had stale nacho chips. But it's 'free' Bud Light beer and wine, so no complaining.

I must say that they should probably clean house with the management. They do not know what they are doing, especially in the food and beverage department. The food and beverage manager is so unprofessional, and was the laziest manager I have ever seen. He does not help out his employees, and he is rude to the guests. Not to mention his appearance is dreadful. He has tattoos on his neck that he covers up with band-aids! I will never stay here again!

I stay here for business in the area. It's a good hotel. The breakfast is better than the others in the area, and the free wine and drinks in the evening is a nice way to end the day. It must have been another brand before Embassy took it over. The hotel, as others have said, is not your typical Embassy Suites. Rooms are on the small side, breakfast area cramped, no atrium, and the air conditioning system seems to be from a Motel 6. The air conditioner constantly went on and off. Most people like a steady hum and can set the fan to stay on all night. Not here. The system goes off and on loud enough to keep even a tired business guy up. The service is great and the staff is friendly. I have to go back in two weeks and will stay here again. If I can't sleep through the air conditioning noise, I'll switch to the Hampton.
