My fiance and I made appointments with 5 different locations in the Temecula and Fallbrook area to find a wedding venue. Our first appointment was with the Inn at Churon at 9:30 am on a Wednesday. We live over an hour away and my fiance took the day off of work in order to spend the day looking for a venue. I spoke to Doreen, who works with weddings at the location, a week prior and she confirmed my appointment date/time. When we arrived to the location, we were met at the front desk by a guy who seemed surprised we were there to tour the facility for a wedding. I informed him we were supposed to speak to Doreen. Meanwhile, as he was baffled as to what he was supposed to do, I asked him if he had any handouts with wedding information. He fumbled around the desk, disappeared to the back for several minutes and returned to tell me he had no idea where anything was for weddings.
The guy at the front then picked up the phone and made a call. He quickly handed the phone to me with no warning. A little confused, I took the phone and said hello. It was Doreen. She told me she was not at work today and completely forgot to write me in her calendar. She had the nerve to say she remembered I was supposed to go in. To make this long story shorter, she basically told me there was no one else at the location to assist me and there were no wedding pamphlets at the desk because they were re-doing them. At no time did she offer any other accommodations or ask if I wanted to re-schedule. She simply said, sorry. I told her we drove over an hour and my fiance took the day off and she did not seem concerned in the least bit.
The next morning, I got a phone call from a different girl, Julie, who said sorry about yesterday, would you like to re-schedule? When I explained to her what happened, she showed little interest and ended our conversation quickly. This is supposed to be a place recommended by The Knot and received an award. I was very disappointed and would not go back even if they did offer a huge discount.
Lastly, the guy at the front was on the phone and was talking about rats eating the wires at the location. Things to keep in mind if you are going to book your event at the Inn at Churon.
