“Impromptu Stay at Ponte”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2013

My wife and I shared lunch and wine at the restaurant at Ponte Winery, and we were way too relaxed and having fun so we didn't notice that two bottles of wine evaporated at our table by the time we were ready to leave. So we walked next door and got a room at the Inn. The staff was friendly, attentive, and very professional. There was a promo going, that Sarah, who checked us in, offered right up to us. It included a bottle of wine, appetizers at the Cellar Lounge, and a $75 gift card, which we could apply to our total bill. The second-floor room was spacious and had two chairs out on the balcony - overlooking the vineyards and the winery - which we used while sipping a glass of the complimentary Super T red blend.

The next morning, we had breakfast in the courtyard, which is nicely landscaped and will look even better as the newly planted shrubs grow in. The setting is really peaceful and very scenic. The pond, with a small veranda extending over the water, reflected the vineyards that extend beyond the back of the Inn and the Palomar Mountains beyond. We enjoyed our stay and our only disappointment was that we had to leave before we wanted to get back to the real world.

Hi JohnK,
Thanks for spending the night with us. We think you and the wife made the responsible and more desirable choice not to drive home and instead spend a lovely evening in Wine Country. We are glad you got to take advantage of one of our packages and hope you'll come back and stay with us soon.
Thanks for your great review!

My wife and I were in Temecula for the Michael McDonald Concert at Thronton. We also booked Ponte for that evening so we didn't have to drive back to the Ranch. At first glance the place is beautiful. However, driving in and having to park my newly detailed car on their dusty ground was a little upsetting and tacky to say the least. The check-in went with only a small hitch...our reservation was filed under a different name, no big deal. When we got to the room, we were really surprised at its small size and poorly placed balconies. There was no partition between balconies so you could easily see into the adjacent rooms. Oh, and by the way where was the complimentary bottle of wine? This is wine country. Not even a complimentary wine tasting. Well my we are spoiled by South Coast Winery and Spa. South Coast Winery and Spa is far superior and much better value. I will reconsider once they pave the entry and parking area and include a complimentary bottle of wine or tasting.

Hi RSFBigdog,
Thank you for your feedback on your stay. Our parking lot is decomposed granite and is part of our sustainability initiative. Since the hotel is surrounded by vineyard, the "DG" absorbs car emissions and keeps runoff from finding its way into the vineyard. However, we do understand your disappointment and are always happy to have a valet park your car in the Winery parking lot and help with your bags. For complimentary tastings or wine, we recommend joining our wine club or checking out our seasonal packages which often include these amenities. We are sorry we were unable to exceed your expectations. If you do choose to stay in Wine Country again and are unable to stay with our neighbors, we do hope you'll give Ponte Vineyard Inn another chance.

My fam. and I stood at Ponte a couple days ago to celebrate my Mom's B-day. The staff is very friendly, helpful, the rooms and views are amazing. It was our first time in Temecula and of course in this Hotel, we would definitely go back there.

This was one of several destinations on a road trip, but was by far a strong balance of cleanliness, well designed rooms, and excellent food and wine overall. The setting was absolutely spot on. However, we did stay one night only and wish we had more time to stay here and enjoy the surroundings. The staff were helpful to us in getting a speedy breakfast in the morning before we had to set off, which was much appreciated. However, one comment in general would be that I would have liked to see more local produce available to purchase, such as chutneys, jams and such like.

Hi Bean,
Thanks for your review and for choosing us on your road trip. We are glad we were a stand-out for hotels on your trip and we will pass on your recommendation about carrying more local items. Hopefully you had chance to visit our marketplace at the Winery, as they do carry many of the items you were looking for.
Please join us again if you visit Southern California. Thank you!

The setting of this hotel in very pretty. The rooms are large, modern, clean and comfortable.
We brought our 7 lb pup and he had his own bed, bowl and treats! We only stayed one night wish it was longer. The only complaint, the bed was very hard, the pillows were great but the bed was hard as a rock. In the morning we had breakfast out on the patio. The only thing better than the food and view were the staff. They were all pleasant, friendly and attentive. If you have the $400+ to stay here and want to bring your four legged friend it's worth the spurge.

Hi Oursswim,
Thank you so much for your review of the hotel. We are glad you and your pup were able to enjoy your stay. We rarely hear that the beds are hard as we have soft pillow-toppers on each mattress but we would be happy to look into solutions should you stay with us again (double-topper, maybe?) Please give us a head's up the next time you are in town and we'll see what we can do about making your stay more comfortable. Also, we'll pass your compliments on to the staff.
Thanks again for your review and for choosing Ponte Vineyard Inn!

What a wonderful place in Temecula

The service is one of the best we've been too. The staff was very courteous and very professional. Just the right balance. The area is sooooo relaxing. As a photographer I had plenty to shoot. They also produce a great wine. Try the 2005 Cabernet. They also have a superb sparkling white wine! Very refreshing. The food was prepared just right. Lots to choose from. You must try the oven Pizza at the winery. One of my favorites! I highly recommend it!

Room Tip: There are all good!

We recently stayed at Ponte Vineyard Inn for our good friends, daughter's wedding. We had 2 rooms as we had our 2 daughters with us. This was an amazing hotel. Very clean, rooms were well furnished, the bathroom was large with a separate commode area. The shower was very large. We ate breakfast and lunch there, and both very very good.
