“The Perfect Wedding Accommodation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

We got married at Ponte Winery in October 2012. Not only did we have our dream day but all of our guests left saying what a great time they had and how impressed they were with Ponte. We stayed at the Ponte Vineyard Inn before and after our wedding- I'm not sure we could have picked a more romantic place. Breakfast in the garden on our wedding day was the perfect way to start the most memorable day of my life and ending it with champagne in a Ponte Suite wasn't too bad either :) I highly suggest the Ponte Vineyard Inn for a romantic getaway.

Hi Brooke E,
Thank you so much for your great review of the hotel. More importantly, thank you for spending your wedding day with us! We are honored to have been a part of such a special day in your life and we are so glad that we were able to contribute to your joy. We always offer anniversary specials for couples who got married at Ponte, perhaps we'll see you in coming years when you continue to celebrate your marriage. Congratulations!

From the mission style ambience of the Ponte Inn to the culinary delights paired with the fruit of the vine, our sons wedding weekend will long be remembered.
I dare to say Tuscany Italy could not have hosted a more beautiful scene than the one shared
by our two italian families and friends this past weekend at this gem in the Temecula Wine Country.

Room Tip: This was our second time to stay at the Inn, and we enjoy the 2nd floor rooms for the views of the h...

The staff and service went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. My only concern is that on busy weekends, they do not have adequate dining facilities. If you don't make a seating reservation, you may be out of luck and have to leave the Ponte Winery to eat. The bar on Saturday night was at capacity and both restaurants were booked. We got on the waiting list and after 1.5 hours and were finally called for seating. That said, service and food were amazing once we had our table. I am glad to see they are doing well, but it would be so much better if the dining facilities accommodated all their guests.

Hi kspainhome,
Thank you for taking the time to review the hotel. We are glad you had a great time on your girls weekend and apologize for the wait on dinner. We highly recommend reservations to avoid long waits or being turned away and are looking into ways to accommodate more guests in our Restaurants without compromising on food quality or service. We hope you'll join us again soon!

My two friends and I do an annual "Girl's Weekend", flying in from all parts of the country, and last year we went to Ponte Vineyard Inn. I went back for one night the following month for a nearby wedding, as well. The Inn had literally just opened; there were still things being worked on, but it was lovely. We had a deluxe queen with balcony and the room was spacious and pristine. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, the food all around the estate is tasty (though at wine country prices). Only complaint was the music in the cellar lounge - it wasn't just not good, it was AWFUL. Hopefully they've worked that out by now. It was literally so bad it made us leave.
But as I said, rooms were lovely, the estate is beautiful with the tasting room, restaurant and winery tour next door and there are a couple wineries nearby you can walk to after you've gone to the Ponte tasting room, if you don't want to drive.

Room Tip: Ask for something overlooking the vineyard

Hi justtojess,
Thank you for your review of the hotel. We hope you'll come back again and visit now that we've been open awhile. We have a variety of musicians playing in The Cellar Lounge, you can check our website for more information on what style we'll have on a given night.
Again, thank you for staying with us and for writing a review. If there is anything we can do to make your next stay special, please let us know!

My wife and I have just returned from the Ponte Vineyard following a two night stay for a wedding and I have to say that I would not return.

The setting is lovely and there are many similarly attractive wineries in the area but our experience of the hotel's pre-arrival communications and on site service was poor to very poor.

In the 6 month period prior to arrival we sent multiple emails to the hotel's email address which went unanswered and therefore had to make multiple costly long distance calls to the hotel because of this the poor performance or non-availability of the hotel's web-site. And in the days leading up to our arrival we had a confirmed, pre-paid hotel booking cancelled for no reason and with no notice given. When you go to the 'contact us' tab on the Ponte Vineyard's web site it says:- 'We are here to listen!'. Well they may listen but they certainly don't assist.

The hotel itself is new, opened just under a year ago, and is quite nice in setting and facilities however the service and staff are poor and inexperienced. At breakfast on Saturday morning it took an hour and a half from being seated and having our order taken to receiving our meal and during this time we were offered the wrong order. When the check finally came, now nearly two hours after sitting down, the service section was pre-filled at 20%!!!! 20% for what? A waisted morning? Absolutely unbelievable.

I could go on and describe the obnoxious Italian waiter or the ridiculous price quoted to serve a slice of wedding cake but I'll stop because it's not a good story.

My guess is that in time the hotel will get it's act together and service, pre and during stay, and staff training will be completed but I certainly wouldn't go back and I also, not surprisingly, wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Be careful on a weekday night, room service closes down at 9pm and the hotel bar at 10pm so early ni...

Hi Valencian's,
Thank you for your review of the hotel. We are sorry that you had a poor experience. I am unable to speak to the booking or communication process from overseas but we very, very rarely receive complaints about the online booking process and have tested our 'contact us' controls on the website to ensure that they are working properly. As for the long wait at breakfast, this should have been better managed and we apologize for the inconvenience of a long wait.
Overall, your stay did not match our high standard of service and we will do our best to use your feedback to improve the guest experience here at the hotel. If you ever do decide to give us another chance, please contact us and let us know how we can improve on your next stay.
Thank you for your time.

I should start by saying that if you can get a room cheap, take it - you will love it. When you are paying a premium though, it is a bit lacking.

The rooms are great. Fantastic views - great beds, given the size of the shower, I would have expected a larger shower head, but it is acceptable. My fiance was very happy with the toiletries - which were apparently a good brand. I have always hated the patronising nonsense about how hotels would love to "help the environment", by not giving you clean towels every day (Of course it has nothing to do with the cost of cleaning them?). This place goes on a little more than most, but not dreadfully so.

The cellar bar is nice, but closes at 10pm on weekday evenings, including Fridays. I was also a bit irritated to have to pay a reasonable amount for breakfast. Given the price of the room I really feel that should have been included. The staff serving breakfast were very nice, if not particularly quick That may have been the kitchens fault). That is with the exception of a truly obnoxious french waiter who at best ignored us and at worst was exceptionally rude. One hopes that he usually works in a non customer facing role!

Checkout is a rather early 11am, with checkin at 3. We were here for my brothers wedding (to be held on site) and they had promised him an early transfer to the bridal suite - this was not forthcoming and he had to keep his bride to be waiting, as he carried their bags between rooms.

The wedding went very well - service was superb and the food was amazing.

At breakfast the next morning however, my brother asked the restaurant staff if it would be possible to get some plates and a knife to give out some of the wedding cake. Without hesitation they said that they would need him to pay $5 per person...

This place has the potential to be amazing, but they really need to sort out a few serious issues when it comes to service.

Room Tip: Rooms are great, staff are the problem.

Hi robsaw,
Thank you for your review of our hotel. I apologize for your poor experience at breakfast, especially as it relates to the cake cutting fee. We have policies that apply to our weddings and banquets that should not have applied in this situation. We have taken measures to make sure that our associates are well informed and that this does not continue to be an issue. Also, The Cellar Lounge generally stays open until midnight on Friday evenings, and rarely closes at 10 p.m. during the week so we are looking into where this miscommunication took place. Again, thank you for this review. We truly appreciate the opportunity to be able to solve issues through guest feedback. If we are ever able to host you again, we are confident that we can help you leave satisfied with the value of the hotel.
