We stayed on January 1, 2013 which was great as everyone had checked out! It was nice and quiet. Overall the Inn is very attractive and convenient to wine country. Perhaps a little pricy if you don't get some discount, but if you do then it's ok. I'm sure the location(wine country) increases the cost. Based on some of the other reviews, we requested and got room 211. This is a corner room, so only 1 wall has an adjoining room. This provides a little more privacy, but might also account for the reason the bathroom was so cold (it is on an outside wall). Now, we do like to sleep without heat, but once we turned it on in the morning and were there for another few hours, the bathroom never heated up even with the door open to the room It was so cold we didn't want to go in there to...well, you know all the things you go into a bathroom for! I think one of the most disappointing things about this room is the view. When you are standing on the balcony and look to the left you see the parking lot , look straight ahead and you see the tasting room, look to the right and you see the vineyard. Their are much nicer views in the back looking over the pond and vineyard. You can request, but won't be guaranteed any particular location though. The room however, was very nice, clean and well appointed. So what is the "Why didn't they" all about? Well, the shower in this particular room is literally big enough to fit a very close-knit family of 6, but they would have to take turns under one shower head! What a waste. This shower needed 2 shower heads and some side jets would have been nice too. Next, the bathroom door is a sliding pocket door that minus the frame is a solid sheet of milk glass which allows light and noise from the bathroom to spill out into the bedroom in the morning. This is a little inconvenient for those of us earlier risers married to those who aren't. Of course, these things wouldn't keep me from returning but certainly made me scratch my head and wonder what the designer was thinking. I had noted in previous reviews complaints about the staff. I initially spoke with Sara to make the reservation and she was very nice and helpful. When we checked out the young lady was pleasant enough, but seemed a little stressed but we all have an off day. Even the cleaning staff that we encountered in the hall on the 1st seemed very nice and that says a lot since they were cleaning up after one of the biggest partying nights of the year! We went to the Cellar Room for happy hour. Nice comfy seating, relaxed, nice ambience. A decent value, staff there very accommodating. We ordered the nachos and the sliders. Nachos were cold and sliders were tepid at best. I wouldn't order the nachos again, but the sliders had a great taste, they just need to come with a side order of heat! I would go back, but at this point I'm not married to the idea and would consider other options before deciding.
