“No Luck Here in Casino”

Pechanga Resort and Casino

I had a one bedroom suite booked through hotel and while browsing around some other travel sites found it cheaper. So I called the hotel and asked them if they would match it and they couldn't! So I cancelled and booked the cheaper rate the hotel was very nice about it and they may be reviewing this flaw.
Pros:

All the food was good and resonably priced, room service was fast

Room was nice and clean and well furnished
Hotel employees were all nice and helpful
Showroom for concert was great
Bellman

Check-in

Cons:

Casino,casino,casino!!!
$10 table minumums not enough populer games open
Slots/video poker-the populer machines had crowds waiting for an opening and the multi reel video machines with too many pay lines$$$ were the majority and the poker machines were just as bad.Three hand ,five, ten hand machines were everywhere and regular poker machines were rare or impossible to get a chance at.Drink service at night and I mean more then four hours was zilch.Save your money for Nevada

The noise if you are staying in a north facing room is LOUD and I mean from down below outside the hotel and the valet parking area until 2-3 am.Also the hallway and overhead noise is quite loud also.If you are a light sleeper do not recommend a room facing the casino/hotel entrance.Too much vehcile and pedestrian noise including fire engines a couple times a day into the casino (no joke)

Self parking is almost impossible if you are checking in unless you want a looong walk with bags

Bottom line is it's a nice to stay, dine or see a concert but a lousy place to gamble

Our optimistic high-roller friend TJ booked a "complimentary" two room birthday stay at Pechanga for us for Friday night. Alas, he got called away for a family emergency. TJ called the hotel and they said "don't worry, we'll take care of them". Another friend said to go to Pala instead, we didn't listen. We headed trustingly down I-15 to be "taken care of" and keep one of the rooms. The shuttle driver was great. The buffet was great. The Improv Comedy was great. The $80.00 a night room was great (except it cost over $200.00) The slots were terrible. We lost about $800.00. The hard to find minimum on the mostly closed BlackJack tables was $10, our play here didn't seem to count. The front desk people were great. One gracious lady fought like a tigress to get a bottle of wine taken off our bill. Thank you Irene! The drinks were expensive. Our food and lodging bill was well over $300.00 for two people making it an expensive Friday night. If you want to eat a great buffet and see good comedy, come here. If you want to gamble, make the drive to Vegas or Laughlin and drink the free drinks and maybe bring home some money. I'm still waiting to be "taken care of".....

I stay when in Temecula on business 5-6 times per year, so I have different needs than some other reviewers (i.e. don't care about late night entertainment during the week)

The rooms and bathrooms are big, clean and in great shape. The beds are so comfy. I have never heard any noise from any other rooms and I have stayed in all room types all over the hotel. I love the pool area and health club; great restaurants - I love Kelseys - great for a single traveler.

I agree with some - have never had luck in the casino and don't know anyone who has - I don't think this is the place for serious gambling, but certainly big enough and lots of options for entertainment. I'm sure this is a great weekend getaway for anyone 3 hours or less away.

We are not casino people but we were visiting family and we stayed at the hotel. The rooms were great, the beds are sooooo comfortable and clean. We were very suprised that we found in our room a cheese and fruit platter which was great! My husband and I are planning to go back for a show and stay there once again.

Glad I did not read the reviews the other two previous guests below…… We found the place to be very nice and friendly – we also found lots to do during the day by visiting the local wineries.

We went to Pechanga to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. We live in San Diego and did not want to drive 6 hours to Las Vegas or 6 hours to Central Coast wineries. Temecula is only 40-45 miles away from our home and offers both casino resort action and over 20 wineries in the area.

PROS – Very friendly staff, resort type amenities, very large room, great view, nice pool area, fair price for mid week rates, pillow top mattress, xtra large bathroom, lots of choices for restaurants and bars, nice venue for us to watch the Moody Blues play live, very convenient to the local wineries, only 45 min away to our home in San Diego, wide variety of slot machines, and room service was outstanding in quality and service.

CONS (very minor suggestions)– should have more than 2 pillows and 3 towels in the room, very expensive for Friday night stay, the crab legs in the buffet were fishy tasting and the butter sauce was just pure oil, the AC thermostat in our room needed to be calibrated (way off on temperature), the universal men/women restroom in the pool area had a nasty toilet seat for the ladies, could be a very long walk down the hallways from elevator to your room
