“How long is the wait?”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2011

We put our name on the wait list for lunch and were told that it would be about a 15 minute wait. We decided to walk around a bit and check out the tasting room and returned about 40 minutes later because we were still not called and we knew that it was way past 15 minutes. When we asked how much longer we had to wait, the host told us 20 minutes. I then asked how is the wait 20 minutes when we were told 15 minutes 40 minutes ago? The host then told me that they seat wine club members first, so as long as they keep coming, you will have to continue to wait. I then let the host know that we were leaving and would not return.

“A pleasant day in the wine country”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2011

We dined outside in the open air and the vineyards were surrounding us. The service and the meal were very good and we enjoyed the casual county feeling of the whole place. We shopped in the gift shop in the tasting room and we even took the tour. If you are looking for an authentic day in the country with carefully tended gardens, tasty cuisine and a variety of wine selections, then Ponte is your place.

“Fabulous outdoor setting and great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2011

All the seating is outside in a courtyard setting, either covered or in the sun and we chose the latter on a cool day. I had their arugula/manchego cheese/dates/walnuts/apples salad and my husband had their margherita pizza - both just perfect with a glass of their recommended wine. My husband swears it was one of the best margherita pizzas he'd had. All the menu items make you want to order them and there's quite a variety from coriander crusted ahi tuna to hand made ravioli. Highly recommend this place.

“Great end to a wine-tasting day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2011

My adult family members and I went wine-tasting in Temecula, and ended our day at the Smokehouse Restaurant. We made reservations that day, and were seated shortly upon arrival. This restaurant provides only outdoor seating, but we were quite comfortable, temperature-wise, given the patio heaters and large screens blocking the breeze. Our table, as many others, overlooked the vines and winery. The bread and sauce initially provided were great--in fact, I wish I could get the recipe for the sauce, which is sold in the winery gift shop. We also ordered a bruchetta appetizer; that, as well as our meals were great! The service was very good, and our wait staff was extremely accommodating in terms of assisting with wine pairings. Live music, consisting of soft pop, was wonderful ambiance for the evening.

I have been there for lunch on previous occasions, and again, on each time, the food and service was great. I highly recommend the pizzas, which are specialized.

“absolutely beautiful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2011

We went for an early Valentine's dinner and absolutely loved it! Let me start by saying that the reason you eat there is absolutely for the atmosphere. The restaurant is outside and is situated right next to a beautiful garden that overlooks the vineyards. We were there when it was dark, but the garden was lit up with accent lighting and the restaurant was lit up with small lights overhead. It was very romantic. We noticed that the restaurant did not seem very crowded at all. We were seated under a heater and were quite comfortable.

The service was excellent. Very friendly staff. We got our food pretty quickly (I got the lamb special, he got a pasta dish), but we never once felt rushed. We even sat a bit after finishing our dinner to enjoy the last of our wine. Our food was good, perhaps not worth the price, but still good. The menu is small and a bit pricey, but it is worth it for the atmosphere. A great special occasion dinner.
