“Nice Location--Cold Water”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2013

This beach, like most beaches at Lake Tahoe, is at a beautiful location. Unfortunately, it's close to the road that goes around the lake and you always hear road noise. Also, the water gets deep close to shore, giving this beach its dark blue color and some of the coldest water at the lake. Beware that this water isn't for swimmers who like to stay in a long time and swim long distances. But it's a great kayak location for paddling past the nice homes to the south. The campground is located close by but in the past I found it very noisy from road traffic and was annoyed by the nightly bear visits. Quieter campgrounds are found at Sugar Pine Point and Fallen Leaf Lake.

“Great beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

This is a very relaxing place in general, but I've always liked coming to Meeks Bay. My family has been comoing here for Summer vacations for generations. Back in the day, it was cheap camping, but now is more of a tradition. There is a small parking fee to park near the beach, but it is nominal.

“Beautiful to behold”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

we rented an RV space for 4 days at Meeks Bay Resort. what a beautiful place; right on the beach on Lake Tahoe. somewhat secluded but really not far from shops, restaurants; even a cable car to local casinos.

“Clean beach,clear water, great views....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

Went on a Sunday morning just before the kids went back to school and as expected it was fairly busy. It is $10 to park and there is plenty of shade to stop the car becoming an oven whilst you are off enjoying yourself. The water and beach are very clean and most people took coolers and made a day of it. The sand gets very hot so shoes to walk on the beach are a must. The store has very little in it of any note and you are better to take your own food/drink or visit nearby PDQ deli for amazing food (pesto bread is awesome). Renting a kayak or paddle boat is a must as the views back to the shore are breathtaking. Only downside? The staff in all areas may have been trying to look 'laid back' but they were almost disinterested. Good day if you are happy to entertain yourself.
