“Beautiful to behold”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 4, 2012

we rented an RV space for 4 days at Meeks Bay Resort. what a beautiful place; right on the beach on Lake Tahoe. somewhat secluded but really not far from shops, restaurants; even a cable car to local casinos.

“Clean beach,clear water, great views....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012 via mobile

Went on a Sunday morning just before the kids went back to school and as expected it was fairly busy. It is $10 to park and there is plenty of shade to stop the car becoming an oven whilst you are off enjoying yourself. The water and beach are very clean and most people took coolers and made a day of it. The sand gets very hot so shoes to walk on the beach are a must. The store has very little in it of any note and you are better to take your own food/drink or visit nearby PDQ deli for amazing food (pesto bread is awesome). Renting a kayak or paddle boat is a must as the views back to the shore are breathtaking. Only downside? The staff in all areas may have been trying to look 'laid back' but they were almost disinterested. Good day if you are happy to entertain yourself.

“White sandy beach with nearby facilities”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

We loved this beach with it's large, sandy beach and some shady spots for those who want to stay out of the sun. The nicer restrooms were a bit of a walk, but there are nearby latrines, too. There is a snack bar right by the beach. Also, the resort supplies air for your inflatables--a nice amenity to have.

“Wonderful Beach - a hidden gem”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2011

The Meeks Bay beach is truly a relaxing experience - my wife and I note the following:

-While it has changing rooms and a snack bar, the beach gives you a feeling of being away with its long sandy coastline as well a mammoth shade tree in the middle. The tree was noteworthy in that it allowed one to be on the beach but not get as much sun.
-While popular, the site was also reasonably quiet / relaxed. The beach is in the "middle" of the west side of the lake - right between Tahoe City and South Tahoe, providing a less hectic atmosphere.
-The water temperature was pushing 70 degrees (in very late August) which we felt was "swimmable".
-The changing area is reasonably clean.
-The beach has a parking lot, which costs $10; however, you do not need to pay this, as you can park on the street and walk the 100 yards in for free. Further, you can pull in for up to 5 minutes to load/unload (for free). The beach's easy access is a true highpoint.
-Once can rent paddleboats or kayaks' from a nearby store.
-One can travel to the nearby PDQ Tahoma Market for fantastic sandwiches if the snackbar fare doesn't entice.
