“Good value and location with trade-offs”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Price was good for this resort destination. It is close to the beach, across a busy road, but within a short walk. The room was sizeable, and furnishings fairly new. But there were some things that were less than ideal at my Squirrel House deluxe king room. Ceiling pot lights weren't located where they could do much good. To get enough light in the room you had to keep the drapes open, and that left no privacy since the bed was located near both a window and French doors. Tiny bathroom so towels did not dry out, and maid service was spotty during my between-seasons stay. Quiet location amid stately pines. So depending on what you are looking for Tahoe Vistana Inn can be "just average" or "just right."

Room Tip: Your neighbors must all walk by your door if you are in Room 133 or 135.

I would rate this property a 3.5 for a few reasons. The pluses were Ashley at the front desk and the maid whose prompt & efficient service were excellent when my original room was not going to work for me. My Original Room was #140 which while newly renovated, it is directly below another larger room that was occupied by a family. The noise level from above was not conducive to the quiet, restful stay I anticipated. Also this particular room had no screens on the windows, only in the bathroom window. So getting fresh air without bugs would of been difficult. Ashley immediately moved me to # 131 which is further back on the property, and the peace & quiet were exactly what I needed. However this room was a Standard Room not the Deluxe King that I originally booked and paid for. It was not renovated, the TV did work but it was pretty old & small, and the mattress was older also. But it did have screens in all the windows which was great. My disappointment is in the inconsistencies of the particular rooms, certainly not in the customer service.

A cute little inn by the lake with nice new furnishings (especially shower and the bed). Great for the price

Just one star off for the hairball found in the shower and the splinter I got from the bed.

Cleanest motel you will ever stay inn. Very friendly desk clerk who gave us great tips on Tahoe.
Emerald Bay is a must see! Continental breakfast good. Pool nice. Family owned and they are constantly maintaining and sprucing up the property. THEY CARE!

Room Tip: 2nd or best yet 3rd floor room.

Wonderful. Real attention to detail. Lovely two days in one of the Deluxe Rooms, lake view.

Good value overall for anyone looking for something more special than a simple motel.

Newly renovated. Modern, Rustic theme. Lots of space. Well stocked kitchen. Clean. Large rooms. WiFi worked well. Staff were hugely helpful and flexible - thanks!

In the sprint of constructive feedback and not wishing to nitpick:

1) provide better, more comfortable pillows.
2) full size fridge next to the bed was noisy. We had to unplug it
3) towels were thin, small & threadbare.
4) sliding, heavy, rustic bathroom door doesn't seal properly so can kill the romance somewhat! (Also impossible to open at night without waking the other person).

Nice and central on North side of the lake. Be warned that the Tahoe Vista Village is quite sparse, you'll want to consider travelling to Tahoe City for better dinner options etc.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay :)

I would rate this property about 3.5 circles out 5.There were mostly positive things, but there could be minor improvements.
The location of the Inn is wonderful. We had almost a private cabin. When you walk out the room you immersed in nature. They had a patio outside that was really nice and you could actually see chipmunks, squirrels and birds. The room was large and it had some hardwood/laminate floor, which I prefer to carpet. There was bounce to the floor and the room was minimally furnished. The bath room was very retro pink, but it had great shower. There was a refrigerator and microwave. This a pet friendlily hotel which was nice. They were helpful at the front desk. If you want just enjoy nature, I would recommend this place. It was nicely priced for the Tahoe area.
