“Very accommodating! Great Hotel! Super Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2014

Cleanest motel you will ever stay inn. Very friendly desk clerk who gave us great tips on Tahoe.
Emerald Bay is a must see! Continental breakfast good. Pool nice. Family owned and they are constantly maintaining and sprucing up the property. THEY CARE!

Room Tip: 2nd or best yet 3rd floor room.

Wonderful. Real attention to detail. Lovely two days in one of the Deluxe Rooms, lake view.

Good value overall for anyone looking for something more special than a simple motel.

Newly renovated. Modern, Rustic theme. Lots of space. Well stocked kitchen. Clean. Large rooms. WiFi worked well. Staff were hugely helpful and flexible - thanks!

In the sprint of constructive feedback and not wishing to nitpick:

1) provide better, more comfortable pillows.
2) full size fridge next to the bed was noisy. We had to unplug it
3) towels were thin, small & threadbare.
4) sliding, heavy, rustic bathroom door doesn't seal properly so can kill the romance somewhat! (Also impossible to open at night without waking the other person).

Nice and central on North side of the lake. Be warned that the Tahoe Vista Village is quite sparse, you'll want to consider travelling to Tahoe City for better dinner options etc.

Thanks again for a wonderful stay :)

I would rate this property about 3.5 circles out 5.There were mostly positive things, but there could be minor improvements.
The location of the Inn is wonderful. We had almost a private cabin. When you walk out the room you immersed in nature. They had a patio outside that was really nice and you could actually see chipmunks, squirrels and birds. The room was large and it had some hardwood/laminate floor, which I prefer to carpet. There was bounce to the floor and the room was minimally furnished. The bath room was very retro pink, but it had great shower. There was a refrigerator and microwave. This a pet friendlily hotel which was nice. They were helpful at the front desk. If you want just enjoy nature, I would recommend this place. It was nicely priced for the Tahoe area.

When we first pulled up, we were a little disappointed in how the exterior of the building looked...old. But the receptionist, Ashleigh, was absolutely delightful and so helpful. She upgraded us to a new renovated room at the back of the property with a small kitchen. We paid a bit extra, but definitely worth it as the room had views of the lake.

The only constructive criticism I could make is that the kitchen could probably be better equipped ie, hand towel, extra tea/coffee cups (there was only one). Oh, and I find that so many places let themselves down by having cheap pillows, but then again, i am pretty high maintenance when it comes to pillows. But the sheets were absolutely lovely!

Would definitely stay here again.

Dear guest, thank you for your recent stay and most of all thank you for your feedback, we are constantly seeking to improve our business, we took note of the missing items in the kitchens and ordered more supplies, the unit where you stayed had brand new pillows, we also have extra ones in the office if guests find them uncomfortable, regarding the outside look of the buildings, its one of our main projects, we know that the first impression is what sometimes counts but i am happy Ashley took really good care of you guys, let us know if you decide to come up again and will make sure to have you in one of the fully remodeled units

Squirrel House room 141, small refrigerator, microwave, table and two very un-comfortable straight back chairs. There is no Lake view from the room and no privacy unless you keep the curtains closed, then the room is dark. This is one of the rooms in the middle of the building. The rooms on either end are larger and seemed more inviting, both have kitchens. One has a Lake View, the other has a semi-private deck. Either room would be a better choice. Came back to the room at mid-nite and they had turned off all the outside lights. It was very dangerous trying to find my way in a complete black-out. The staff is friendly and helpful. I will look for something else the next time I return to North Shore.

This is a very average facility. The room was clean and the staff very friendly, but it is an old facility and it is showing the age. The bed was as hard as a board, in fact harder than the floor (which had a definite bounce to it). This room hopefully wasn't one of the recently renovated rooms. Price was fine for the area, it was just an overnight stay for us on the way through.

Tahoe Vistana exceeded my expectations. We stayed in the Squirrel House, room 143, which had a king bed, with a bedroom containing a queen and twin loft bed. The furnishings followed the rustic Tahoe style, but were modern. Think more World Market, less Sportsmanship Warehouse. For example, there was a river rock entry immediately inside the door, the perfect place for wet shoes, and then the shower floor had the same calming river rock effect. You can tell that whoever designed and furnished the room put a lot of thought into it, and has very good taste. Our room had a kitchen, complete with a small fridge, stove top, spacious bar countertop with additional seating, and enough dishes, flatware, pots and pans, etc., that my family of 6 was able to cook a few meals in the room. It was like we rented a condo but then had all the amenities of a hotel. The room was super clean, and I have a baby who crawls, so I'm pretty picky, but even our little guy who was cruising all over couldn't find so much as a crumb. Between it's furnishings and location, this place was a steal.
