“Frugal Owners~Rundown, Dirty, Terrible Customer Service!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2010

It's unfortunate that such a gorgeous location is run so poorly. The property has wonderful potential, but is clearly run by someone who should be in a different business; perhaps one that does not involve dealing with the public. The rooms are rundown, there is a problem with the hot water heater, there are kitchens in some rooms, but they aren't fully stocked, and do not even have paper towels, or a full container of dish soap. There weren't enough towels in the room, and when we requested more, we still didn't get enough. The owners hover around the guests, making them feel awkward and uncomfortable, as if we are invading their home! There's absolutely NO customer service--They act as if they're doing such a huge favor letting us stay there. So much for repeat business! I will never return, despite the location. There are plenty of nearby places with nice, friendly owners. It's also overpriced compared to the competition. Not worth the money!

The service at the resort was great throughout the stay, all of the staff was very pleasent and freindly. The location of the resort is on the north side of Lake Tahoe, there is a view of the lake from all of the rooms, and the beach is great aswell. They have accomidations for all ages, just on the beach they have a ping-pong table, a hamock, outdoor fireplace, and a basket-ball hoop, (and they have many extra options off of the property as well). Overall the trip was an amazing experience for the whole family, we were all very pleased with the results!

Just returned from 3 days. The view was perfect. Room was spacious and clean-beware no air conditioning. The staff was very pleasant. Great location between Kings Beach and Tahoe City. Will definately return again.

We vacation at the MLR annually with our family and friends. The beautiful sandy beach extends gradually into Tahoe allowing for perfect swiming (warmer water -- a rarity in Tahoe) and boating -- you can rent kayaks, jet skis etc and they bring them to the beach for you! With coffee shops, shopping, and delis nearby (not to mention the ice cream shop across the street) you will spend all of your days enjoying Tahoe's beauty from the beach or your balony.

As a family run business the owners pay personal attention to each guest -- if you have an issue or concern it will be addressed immediately and with a smile!

This was probably a very nice resort at one time. The location is excellent. Our door led directly to the sand.

THE GOOD: Excellent location. Great beach.

The BAD: We walked in and our carpets were sopping wet from being shampooed earlier in the day. The room was moderately clean but not up to the standards we are used to in the $200+ range. The room came stocked with glasses, a coffee maker, and a microwave oven. However, we noticed a sign requiring us to wash our own dishes. I did so but was unnerved by the realization that the glasses we had been eating and drinking from had been cleaned (hopefully) by the last guest and not by a professional staff member. Yuck. I was also irritated by the young German native at the front desk. He offered little advice about the area. A few other sour notes included the old lock on the door which was very tricky to operate.

THE UGLY: Although not a deal breaker, we stayed at the location during August in 100 degree weather. The room has NO AIR CONDITIONING. Sleeping was tough due to the heat.

All in all, this appears to have been a once great location that is still just so so. I think a bunch of young party types would love the property, however. You can drink, party and carry on until the wee hours of the night and stumble right from the beach into your room. For a family or a couple that has a higher standard of cleanliness and luxury, this place is probably not the best choice.

We stayed for 3 nights and decided that this place is not worth the money, there are plenty of much nicer "resorts" on the waterfront for the same price. The "sandy" beach is rock hard and riddled with stones. You need to wear shoes! The Beach cabanas are Costco umbrellas with plastic molded chairs. The Hot Tubs are filthy. Our room was OK and clean but there is no air conditioning and the drapes are flimsy and not good at blocking light. The private decks are part of the comunal walkways so if you are not on the end you get to meet all of your neighbors. The traffic on North Lake Blvd is constant and NOISEY!!
