“A must see”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

Museum is a small treasure of Native American Baskets & other history of Lake Tahoe. Don't forget to tour the entire outside area. There's a dam to view & a pretty, shady area with picnic tables for enjoying lunch.

“Interesting Tahoe history”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

Very interesting - you'll find some history of the Lake and how it was settled. You'll get to watch water spilling into the Truckee River. There are picnic tables where it is nice to have a picnic and enjoy views of the Lake.

“If you're interested in baskets ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

This is one of those scratch-your-head places ... what is it doing here?! If you're interested in Native American baskets of the west coast, this funny little place has the best collection I've ever seen. A docent at the little history museum in South Lake Tahoe recommended it and it was well, well worth the 45 minute drive. The little gift shop is filled with related items. Amazing find.

“A highlight of our stopover”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

We really enjoyed this museum. Didn't expect to find it in this super big tourist area. The staff was pleasant and we did enjoy what we saw.
