“Very cute restaurant with great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 24, 2013

My husband saw this restaurant across from the little store near our hotel, The Cottage Inn. It was our anniversary and we decided to eat here. We're glad we did. It did take a while to get our food, but we then realized that everything was being made absolutely fresh and made to order. It seems to be a converted house, and has a few tables upstairs in the "loft" like area. It's not fancy, but homey and we really enjoyed it. One thing to know is it's BYOB for wine or beer. I would recommend this restaurant.

“cute little place, unique”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

We were a group of five and had to wait for seating upstairs for a little bit. Once we got to the top of the stairs we knew why, it's TINY, just 4 tables that seat a total of 12~ but the atmosphere was fun, the portion size enormous and very good. Felt a bit ackward seated so close to a nice couple who were probably on a date! But that's what vacationing is all about, interesting new places and interesting new people. Chicken Penne Alfredo was wonderful. Their patio looked wonderful but it was dark and chilly by the time we arrived so we waited for a seat inside.

“It's Simple: Good Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Spoon is not fancy, it's funky and fun with good home-style food, large portions, zero pretense and very reasonable prices. You walk in, it's warm and it smells good in there.

We brought a great bottle of Malbec from the liquor store and had Fried Chicken and Chicken Parmesan upstairs. Loved it. Bought their last slice of Red Velvet cake back to the cabin. Very good cake. Met some nice folks with an adorable kid over dinner, they left and some more nice folks came in.

Bring wine or beer if you want it, no license, but also no corkage. A very enjoyable place to eat.

“Great casual meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

It was our last night in Tahoe and we wanted something simple. Spoon was right across the street so we walked over with our bottle of wine (no corking fee) and ordered the soup and half sandwich. It was one of the best meals we had on our vacation. The soup was excellent as was he sandwich, which in reality was a full sandwich. I cant speak for the rest of the food, but if our meal was any indication it would be great.
