“It's Simple: Good Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2013

Spoon is not fancy, it's funky and fun with good home-style food, large portions, zero pretense and very reasonable prices. You walk in, it's warm and it smells good in there.

We brought a great bottle of Malbec from the liquor store and had Fried Chicken and Chicken Parmesan upstairs. Loved it. Bought their last slice of Red Velvet cake back to the cabin. Very good cake. Met some nice folks with an adorable kid over dinner, they left and some more nice folks came in.

Bring wine or beer if you want it, no license, but also no corkage. A very enjoyable place to eat.

Great food, great service and fun place for casual dining or take out. Portions were large and yummy.

“Great casual meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

It was our last night in Tahoe and we wanted something simple. Spoon was right across the street so we walked over with our bottle of wine (no corking fee) and ordered the soup and half sandwich. It was one of the best meals we had on our vacation. The soup was excellent as was he sandwich, which in reality was a full sandwich. I cant speak for the rest of the food, but if our meal was any indication it would be great.

“Ok but not going back”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2013

A little redone modified "A" frame made into a restaurant. One table for two downstairs. Three tables up very steep stairs to where bunks used to be. Menu wasn't bad, probably a great place to order Pizza and take home. Staff was very friendly and you can bring your own beer or wine.
Pricing not too bad. Entree's around $12-15.

“The best food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013

I hate to give this place five stars because I don't want it to be packed to the gills all the time now. But it's a little gem tucked away with awesome food. When I am with larger groups, I have yet to see anyone order anything that was not just great. The rice and bean plate, the grilled salmon (me), the turkey and gravy plate, the ziti or any Italian dish. Anything on the menu is good. You bring your own bottle of wine and there is no corking fee. The outside seating is pleasant and very Tahoe. The soups are excellent every time also. There is a very creative chef here.
