“Nice hotel, but the beds are hard and the wifi slow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

Almost everything about this Hilton Hotel is great. The location is perfect for my business trip. The grounds and hotel decor are tidy and up to date. The rooms are handsomely decorated and very comfortable, until you get into the bed for the night. I like a firm bed, but these beds are just down-right hard. They do provide free wi-fi but the speed is rather slow....especially in the mornings when everyone in the hotel is checking their emails. The restaurant offers great food and cocktails at reasonable prices, and the service is outstanding.

I liked this hotel. The hotel footprint encompasses a rather large area, however your not overwhelmed by its size. My room included a balcony opening up to a canal with the birds chirping, bright sunshine, and a wonderful morning breeze flowing into the room. The rooms are a generous size and I had almost a quiet restful sleep. The room doors require a really hard slam to fully close and the noise from door slamming of other rooms can be heard throughout the night and morning. There is a Starbucks in the hotel lobby.

We were in Stockton for a softball tournament. The team picked a hotel down the street, we stayed one night had a bad experience and checked out first thing in the morning and booked our second night at the Hilton. Our room was ready by 9AM and the friendly staff allowed an early check-in. We were relieved to have a nice place to put our things and rest. The room was beautiful, clean and quiet!

Check Stockton police reports before you stay at this Hilton. My car was broken into in the parking lot (only 2nd row). Everything was stolen!
Don't let the security guard fool you, there is no security and Hilton would not do anything after the crime.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2011

July 2010. I had the opportunity to spend several nights at the Hilton Stockton hotel when business required us to be in the area. The hotel is near the Weberstown Mall, University of the Pacific and the northern part of the port city - Stockton. There is plenty of free parking in the parking structure behind the hotel.

Check-in was moderate and I received a King room as guaranteed.
My room, was comfortable. and looked a bit dated. The bed was comfortable. . Both feather and foam pillows were available. Lighting in the room was moderate with lamps on both sides of the bed, on the desk, and a floor lamp. There are adjustable LED reading lamps on the bed which would be great if you were traveling with someone who wanted to sleep as you read. The work desk was moderate and the office-style chair was a bit dated. My The room had a arm chair.

The TV was had a moderate cable channels as well as a wide selection of pay-per-view movies. I looked at some previews and costs per movie seemed to be between $12 and $15. High-speed Internet service had a charge of $9.95 per day.

The bathroom was clean. Lighting was good, the towels were plentiful, and the shower worked well – immediate hot water with plenty of pressure. Bath amenities include shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and mouthwash.

The concierge lounge is on the 1st floor. Unlike the guest rooms it has been recently refurbished. The high tables and counters make it easy to use a laptop. There is complimentary wired internet service. I did not notice if there is Wi-Fi service or not. In the evening, the concierge lounge offered a hot appetizer, a variety of cheese and crackers, fruit and drinks. Wine at the honor bar was $4.00 per glass, very reasonable. The breakfast items were okay. This lounge unlike many others was open 7 days a week. A real plus!
The hotel public areas were clean and well-kept, The hotel has a large ourtoord swimming pool and hydrotherapy spa. All of the exercise equipment seemed nearly in good working considition. There is also a sauna and steam room accessible from the pool area.

There are many restaurants within a few minutes of the hotel via car. This property is located in a convient location. Most likely one of the better properities in Stockton, which was ground zero for the Mortgage Meltdown. Downtown Stockton like many other urban areas is in need of more revitalization.

I recommend this moderate property if you can get a good rate.
• Liked — 7 day a week conciere lounge
• Disliked — Dated rooms and HVAC system.

Conveniently located. Very clean. Nice big room. Free wifi and coffeemaker. Pleasant and efficient Desk staff/management. Room service good. Mainly quiet interior, though thin walls and echoing corridors mean not always so peaceful if other guests choose not to be. I requested a refrigerator in the room because I had read a previous tripadvisor comment and it was brought immediately, along with a microwave. No buffet, but adequate breakfast provision if somewhat erratic service. Some days I was greeted, other days left waiting 15 minutes. Sometimes offered a choice (I had some kind of pre-paid voucher), other times staff inflexible on the voucher system.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 13, 2010

The Hilton in Stockton was a quick overnight stay on an freeway journey. We hadn't planned on spending so much ($111.26 including all taxes and fees), but decided to savor the moment. Other Stockton motels/hotels didn't inspire a lot of confidence from the exterior and we chose the Hilton as much for the enclosed parking lot as for any other reason.
The check-in clerks were friendly and professional. They had a little mini-fridge in our room (no charge) before we even got our bags up to it. The room was very clean, with an updated feeling. A very quiet night in a comfortable bed.
About the only thing I'd ask for is a continental breakfast, even a minimal one, in the lobby. I realize it's a business hotel and most people staying are expensing the stay, but for we leisure travelers, a cup of coffee and a bagel would be appreciated.
