“Excellent Value If You Are Just Passing Through”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2010

We were just passing through Stockton enroute from Oregon to Southern California. Pulled up without reservations. We selected this hotel because of the other reviews on this site. For what we wanted/needed it was perfect. The staff was very helpful and friendly. She checked us right in. Our room (#203) was basic but totally clean. My wife commented on the towels in that they were very clean, especially absorbant, and smelled good. A lot of times hotel towels are not thick - these were. The beds (2 queens) were a little hard but not uncomfortably so. Because this hotel is adjacent to the freeway, we wanted a room on the opposite side (parking lot side) to minimize freeway noise. Despite this, there was still some noticable noise. Also, if you go here you may want a 2nd floor unit just so you don't have someone walking around overhead. Free Coffee in the Lobby in the AM was a plus because it was actually very decent coffee. Overall, would stay there again. Total cost was little over $50 for two adults. Stockton hotels START at around $80 it seems for some of the other big name brand hotels and for about 6 hours worth of sleep we didn't feel that was best use of funds. The internet isn't free, it's $2.99 for 24 hours. We had our own however.

I stay at one or two different places in Stockton during my travels and my budget always appreciates Motel 6. Cordial staff and a clean room with a decent level of security at night. Hard to beat the accommodations this day and time (for the money) and I always leave pleased.

Decent Motel 6. They were kind enough to give us another room, further away from the ice vendor.
There's a guard all night long, which is quite unusual for a Motel 6. We saw the poor guy doing another shift the morning after at the parking lot of a mall close by.

Great price! We were here on business for 7 days. Room was as clean as most Motel 6 rooms. Staff was very nice. Housekeeping very appreciative of tips. You get extra attention if you tip up front. Ask for a room facing Navy Dr. or the north. There is a Jack In The Box next door and you have to listen to the BOOM BOOM BOOM of the stereos of morons going through the drive thru. Lots of homeless hanging around the area, but security does a good job of keeping them off motel property. Security here is good. We got ripped off in the "better" area of March Ln. at the Extended Stay, because there was no security.

  • Liked — Location and security.
  • Disliked — So-so beds.

The bed was clean and comfortable. The hotel was in pretty good shape. A faint smell in the room which went away when I turned on the heater. Ceramic in the bath tub was peeling away badly. The ceiling must be pretty thin because I heard every footstep and bed creak from a rather restless guest in the room above me. And, believe it or not, I discovered a used crack pipe in the room! It was rolled up in a paper towel stashed between the air conditioner unit and electrical plug! I don't know how long it had been there and didn't know what it was until I set it on the table and a few white crystals rolled out. I dumped it in the outside trash before checking out and didn't even mention it to the hotel desk (I didn't want anyone thinking I had anything to do with it!)
