“Great Local Museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

This museum is a combination art museum and museum of local history. Located on some beautiful local grounds. It is a Stockton treasure (and frankly there aren't many of those). I especially like the exhibits about Stockton's history especially as it relates its history as an inland port and a center of agriculture. Parking is on the street but its okay as the park area is safe. Although as a long time resident, it is best to leave before dark falls. Just saying.

“History, Ancient Culture and Civilization and Dust!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2012

The Haggin Museum in Stockton sits in the center of Victory Park, one of the city's biggest parks. It is close to I-5 so if you are travelling from North California going South to Los Angeles vice versa, the best thing to do is exit Pershing Ave. and a feet away you will find this old structure which houses Historical artifacts and a collection of dust. The Museum could use a little maintenance and cleaning. The best thin about it is the fact that during summer, a lot of concerts are held in Victory Park so one can always visit the Museum and enjoy a cool and fun time in the park during one of the featured bands concerts. Beware: Do not linger in the area when it gets late at noght. The Park is known to attract gangs and other hooligans . Drive-by shootings are prevalent. Welcome to Stockton!
