“Old, tired, and overpriced - It seemed like a great idea.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2013

It SOUNDED like a great idea: A few friends decide to stay in Springville instead of Porterville - 20 minutes closer to where we want to be in the morning. The Springville Inn looks like a decent place online. Price SEEMS reasonable for a nice place.

"Two-room Suite with a king bed and a pull-out sofa in the living room. The Suite has two full bathrooms, two televisions, and refrigerator. This suite has a bay window in the living room facing our beautiful mountains. All of our rooms feature ceiling fans and air conditioning, private bath, telephone, satellite television and coffee maker."

NOTE: They are serious about their 7 Day Cancellation Policy.
NOTE: If you don't have AT&T you have no cell service in Springville. ANYWHERE. We didn't find out about this until we asked at the local store.

We pull into the parking lot and try to get checked in. It takes awhile. There appear to be 2 people working. One is bartending and the other is doing the rest and the front desk. Wait my turn, get checked in and head upstairs.

BAD:

1) Cleaning gnomes need to be more concerned with the little things. Like the wedding favors left over from the (hopefully) previous occupant (maybe). More party favors were found in the pull out sofa bedding. Change the bedding EVERY TIME.
2) The facility's WiFi is as bad as I have seen in any facility. Signal strength stayed poor to "signal failed" the entire time.
3) The towels were smaller than I'd expect in a decent place and were as smooth as sandcloth.
4) The "Bay Window" looks north into the parking lot and hills beyond. Beautiful mountain views are the the south and east.
5) Pull-out Sofa sounds so innocuous.
6) The are signs up noting that too much electrical use will cause the power to go out in the room. Great.
7) Archaic AC units were so loud as to be unusable.

Good
1) Water tastes good.
2) King bed was comfortable.
3) "Country Breakfast" isn't available until 7:30. Need to leave before then?
4) The staff was courteous, just overworked.

This place wasn't horrible, just overpriced for the amenties and facility.

Fireman told me that the place has been for sale for years. Fireman tells me the ask is 3.5 and an offer of 1.5 was rejected. The new owners will need that 2 mil to get this thing refurbished and upgraded!!

I was pleasantly surprised with the room and accommodations at the Springville Inn, as you never know about small town hotels. Very clean with nice decor. Visitor's center, convenience store, fuel across the street. Locals are nice and very friendly. Food and drink at the Inn was good. Friendly bartender adds nice touch to the experience. Excellent value for the money.

On the way from Sequoia National Monument and "The Trail of 100 Giants" to Sequoia NP we stayed at the Springville Inn. The Inn is older but has charm. Room was clean with the exception of the carpet. Carpet was an offwhite berber(big mistake) and it showed every stain.... was very soiled. In addition, could use new linens .
The beakfast was great. An older lady ran the breakfast....she brought us fruit , coffee cake and coffee. Then she took our order (limited menu of eggs, bacon, potatoes, french toast) and then she hustled into the kitchen and prepared it!! Best breakfast of the trip...Delicious.

The staff & the room were much nicer than I expected.
New "veterans park" across the street would be a great place to go let the kids play[if I had any]
Gas station, "Giffords Market" & the "Visitor center" are directly across the street too.
"Patti" at Vistor center was very helpful.
The town of Springville & it's businesses have much improved since last time I was here in the mid 80's [Restaurants etc.]

Room Tip: Rooms are set back a ways from Hwy 190,fairly quiet Ice machine [good one] is on the lower level u...

Was late in the evening and my associate and I did not have anywhere to land and layover for the night. Was checking out reviews and was a little skepticle but upon seeing the Hotel in person it was immediately charming and inviting. The system for checking in was hampered by no actual bell desk attendant, but upon calling and getting set up over the phone, things worked out GREAT. We were given 2 rooms and they are both in good shape. The Inn is older and is unique so it's not like staying at a chain motel. The two rooms were individual in design and it added to the overall charm of the place. Everything in my room was clean, tidy, and did not have any funky odors. Parking was good and no concerns about safety at all. The outside is very charming with a good aray of flowers and no debri laying out. There were lots of material to learn about the historic Springville area and the people that are affiliated with the place are all very nice. It was a bit pricey but when the travel to somewhere else for a room, the breakfast, the free internet and the convenience are all factored in then it was worth the money. I would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Call ahead to make arrangements And the view of the mountain room is very pretty.

A very old hotel with a lot of history. It is hard to reach anyone by telephone to make a reservation...in the morning I finally was successful. Staff was very accomodating for an early check-in. Breakfast was very nice - only a couple of choices and light serving. The hotel needs upgrading: new linens, bedding and pillows. Pillows are flat. Room was clean. Bathrobes are a nice touch and big coffee mugs in the room.

This 10-room hotel is quiet, and the rooms are comfortable and well-appointed. We stayed only one night. Among the amenities are two bathrobes (which you can buy or leave there), a Direct TV connection, and real chairs. There was no shortage of hot water. In the morning, we were treated to a good breakfast.

The building dates from the 1920s, and is a "historic building" in Springville. February is the off-season, and we were one of only two people staying that day. The staff was pleasant, friendly, efficient, and looked after our requests.

We would definitely stay there again - perhaps during the October Apple Festival.
