“Very nice place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2013

It has all the appliance that I need, like micro wave, fridge, free TV with lots of channels, etc. And the location is in the middle of airport and city, which is easy for me and my hubby to go shopping and have conference respectively.

We were on a road trip and didn't want to stay in San Francisco, so this S. San Francisco motel fit the bill. This very clean and quiet room included: coffee maker, fridge, microwave; good wifi; nice hot water; comfy bed (pillow-top), great pillows (we like flatter ones :o); sink/toilet/shower in bathroom, plus sink in room; standard budget towels; energy efficient toilet - handle "grabs" you when flushing for that burst of pressure; no phone in room (but we had cell phones). We had quick check-in and a polite/helpful clerk; bus to downtown San Francisco (292) stops right by hotel; $2 to S F; $4 back to hotel in 40 minutes; free parking; breakfast was adequate: toast, packaged pastries, cereal bars, apples, 2 juices, coffee, hot water, no cereal, milk or waffles. This motel is also very close to the airport if needed.

I agree with other recent reviews of this property. We had planned to stay in downtown San Fran but we left it too late to book and after reading some of the review of those couldn't decide where to stay! We also read lots of reviews before we went on whether it best to stay in the city or outside. There are still pluses and minuses for both but next time we will stay on Lombard and book earlier (3 weeks is best if you can manage it!).

Anyway back to this hotel, having read all the reviews of hotels in surrounding areas we decided on this one and were pleasantly surprised. Room was large, also very clean and comfortable and very quiet (just what you need for a good sleep before flying!). The only thing that was definitely missing was a coffeemaker in the room. Also the doors didn't fit tight to their frames so we were a bit worried about intruders. However security was good and the room were inward facing onto a nice atrium. Breakfast was a bit poor, cereal bars, juice, coffee and toast. It was a small area and they only had 3 places to sit but it was ok.

Staff were very friendly (and the guy on reception was born only 20 miles from where we live! Small world). Parking was free and undercover.

Room Tip: We were on the 3rd floor, great as there was no one above you to make any noise! (especially if peo...

So this hotel isn't the Ritz but neither is it Fawlty Towers. Rooms are simple and a bit dated but the place was perfect for the airport and I ended up going back a couple of times on my trip around Cali as it was quiet and had all I needed. Owners are nice and helpful. Breakfast is standard cheap hotel special, breakfast bars, pastries, coffee and juice. If you plan on spending a lot of time in your room then go somewhere nicer, if you just want somewhere to sleep, shower etc then this is fine.

Wanted a hotel close to SFO as leaving early. Airport Inn was great, very large spacious room. Clean carpets and linen. Not 5 star but for $99 plus tax a night for four people including breakfast exceptional value. Motel is very secure and provides undercover parking. Close to bus service if needed and plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Would recommend to anyone wanting a clean decent motel room within close proximity to SFO. No swimming pool, rated by mistake

The hotel is fine, nothing remarkable at all but neither was it horrendous.

Room was ok, had just been repainted so was quite heavy on paint smell.

Breakfast wasn't great and was laid out in the 'outside atrium' area but you had to take it back to your room as there weren't any tables set out.

Fridge and microwave in room so could be good for a longer term stay if you wanted something in that area.

I was staying at a time when a lot of places were full but I think that you could easily find somewhere better value along the same road if you played the different places off against each other.

Easy places to walk out to for food if needed (about 10min walk)

It doesn't set the world on fire!
