“Was average...”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Upon check in, they didn't honor my request for the top floor. Had to ask for it and they did have a room available on the fourth floor. We came in to the room and there was a musty odor that wasn't pleasant but I figured I could get an air freshener. Since my teenage daughter was with us, we pulled out the sofa bed to check it out and was greeted by two very large stains and a lumpy, overused mattress. We went to the lobby and requested a new room. It took us about 10 minutes but the hotel did honor our request and moved us into another room on the fourth floor that was acceptable. Pros: very quiet room and the king bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also spacious, as well as the front staff nice. Cons: had to use the comforter on top of the sofa mattress, since it was not comfortable. The kitchen was sparse with the utensils and we had to use our plastic ware. They also had to turn the water off during the day...luckily we weren't there.

Room Tip: If getting a sofa pull out, ask them to check the mattress before you settle in.

Stayed here for two nights. We had a rental car and it was a good location for us to see San Francisco. Staff were nice, room was good. Kitchen in room, with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, cooker and microwave. Great if you wanted to cook in but wasn't needed for us. Breakfast is set up in a room across from the reception desk - only a couple of tables so most people bring their breakfast back up to room - suited us but mightn't be for everyone. Complimentary cookies and fruit available at reception!

We booked online & got a good rate - better than you can get on site. Friendly staff. The location worked very well for us with a rental car from SFO. Easy to get to The Wharf from here. Free laundry facilities, so we got to pack lighter & save on airline baggage fees. Fresh baked cookies every evening. Breakfast included & just ok. But the room is like an apartment - very spacious with a kitchenette, separate bedroom, and large bath. It's not the Ritz, but it's certainly worth the money. We'd certainly stay here again!

This was my family's first stay at a Larkspur Landing property. The staff was helpful in assisting us in navigating our way into San Francisco. We really loved that there was a complimentary laundry available.

When i saw the hotel's web site i thought it was going to be one of the nicest hotel i've ever been to, but it was nothing like that, the hotel is OK, but thats it, i found that the staff people were not that charming, but they treated us ok. the location is convenient, close to airport and downtown sf. the room was fine, but small, don't get me wrong, it was ok... but not GREAT...

I stayed at the Larkspur in Sacrimento, very nice. Evening snacks, drinks, clean comfortable.
South San Franciso has not evening spread is far from a place to get food, the air conditioner had been unplugged and it took half a night to figure that out. Worst of all the tub did not drain. Nothing worse that standing in water - yuck.

I personally will avoid airport hotels in the future
Rooms were spacious, but very average, dark and had an odor.
The price during the week was reasonable, but so are the other hotels in the north.
We stayed in the Financial District our first nite and wanted something close to the airport on our last nite for our early morning flight.
If you're visiting San Fran, i wouldnt recommend staying in the industrial section of South San Francsisco even if it is 5 min from the airport.
