Southern California diners are spoiled. We have superior restaurants and if you know better and are willing to drive, you will find amazing restaurants in this town.. Senor Fish is one of the staples in Los Angeles for only in-the-know-diners who know this city's secret spots. 7 Mares is another. But I come to Senor Fish more often. I love the seafood cooked Mexican style here. There are few locations, Eagle Rock, Downtown, South Pasadena. The standouts to me are the octopus tostadas (very light, tart, healthy, no oil), batter fried luscious scallop tacos, shrimp burrito, any of the grilled fish entrees are superior. A lot of diners love the fish tacos here. I'd rather have a piece of grilled fish which they do very well here with rice, beans and tortillas. There is a salsa bar. Menu is written in chalk --who does not like that. For non-seafood diners, the Chicken Tortilla soup and the Pastor tacos are very very delicious. The owner Mary sometimes shows up to help. This family run restaurant is one of a kind in LA. The salsas go very well with seafood. Yes there are other very good Mexican seafood restaurants in LA but with 3 locations Senor Fish is accessible. This is a no frills seafood restaurant. I dare you to go through the menu and share what you think is delicious here.
