“Mixed Experience - could improve”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Michael's on Main is in such a great situation. Very close to Hwy 1 but set by a leafy creek with ample outdoor seating inside and out. A very pleasant place to enjoy a casual meal.
Had late lunch/brunch yesterday with friends, and two dogs, so we sat outside in front of the restaurant there were a couple of other parties out there. Service was very slow indeed and rather disengaged. The 'bottomless mimosas' had to be completely emptied before they would be refilled. We ended up taking our drinks in ourselves to get the second glass. My tomato and avocado benedict was just OK.

“Mixed feelings”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I have very mixed feeling about this place. The food was delicious, but service very rushed. The main dishes came half way through the appetizer. I can imagine it is a nice place by the creek during the day, but in the evenings the interior is nothing to die for. Live music in the bar area was great. Reasonably priced wine list. I would probably visit again with family, but definitely not a date restaurant.

“Great Hamburgers”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

Recently had a late lunch with my husband and ordered their Kobe beef hamburger. Quite exceptional. Nice atmosphere.
Good service with friendly staff. If you are expecting a $5.00 hamburger don't come here. The difference is what they use and how it is prepared. This is not McDonalds.

“Friendly service, but so-so food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 11, 2012

We were there following a business meeting. The place was very crowded, usually a good sign. The service was prompt, despite the crowd. Service was friendly, but the food was a disappointment, similar to food at chains. Drinks were generous. All in all, not a great value. OK atmosphere.

“Good restaurant and music!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

I had the pleasure of meeting my girlfriend, her husband and her mother for a quick bite to eat prior to moving over to the bar to listen to the band West Coast Soul. We went on a Friday night around 7pm and the parking lot was full!

My girlfriend ordered the Ahi entree, her husband ordered the Shrimp Louie and I ordered the BLT Wedge. All dishes were good. We added a couple of glasses of Malbec and were set. The only negative during our meal was the Louie was served and it took a good 10 minutes later for the Ahi to be served - way too long! The BLT Wedge was good, as was the Louie - pretty basic. My girlfriend really enjoyed the Ahi and the portions were definitely on the larger size. Not quite sure what the bill came to as my nice friends picked up the tab.

We did move over to the bar and ordered 2 more glasses of Malbec and a Vodka cranberry and the bill was $27m+ tip. The bar was pretty full and the ambiance was nice. Over, we had a good time and I would definitely come back to try the other entrees.
