5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

Stayed here one night in March 2013 & was pleasantly surprised. Room was large as was the bathroom. The fireplace in the room had a duraflame log in place & ready to go. Additional log $4.00 if needed. We had a balcony that was fairly private with a small table & 2 chairs which was nice. The free continental breakfast was good. They had a small pool & jacuzzi which we did not use due to time constraints. Would stay there again.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor with a nice balcony.

Two nights there in downtown Sonoma .Once I got past the standard Best Western exterior of climbing stairs to the outside room entrance- I was pleasantly surprised. Two queen beds that were very comfy, heat lamp in the bathroom, remote control heating, fireplace with presto log ready to go, balcony with nice wooden patio chairs overlooking the pool. Great deal for exploring the area. Also comes with wine tasting passes for nearby wineries.. unless your breakfast likes are just standard coffee and bread options..you won't care for the microwave breakfast sandwiches, paper plates or waffle maker..
skip it..there are lots of great breakfast spots in the area

Stayed here in early March 2013 and overall was satisfied. The only issue is the first night they put us in room 118. This room was disgusting and the air conditioner did not work. Went to take a shower and there was a huge bug. Brought this to the attention of the staff and they moved us to another room. Overall, it is a great location right near the Sonoma Plaza and easy to get to Napa and Somoma vineyards. The hotel has a great hottub, firepit, and pool. Once we were in a better room, we had an enjoyable stay.

Thank you for your review. I would first like to apologize for your unfavorable experience in the first room. We are currently in the process of replacing the carpets in our rooms installing new granite countertops as well as replacing our air conditioning and heating units.

I was glad to hear that the front desk was able to move you to another room were you had a better experience. It is our number one priority to ensure our guests satisfaction and comfort.

We hope to have an opportunity to have you as our guest again.

Stayed here for two nights. You can't beat the location. A block away from the Square where all the restaurants and shops are. We rented bikes from Sonoma bikes and went on a one day bike tour with them. Matt our tour guide was wonderful and we visited three Vineyards and Vella Cheese. The hotel is ok. We hated carrying our bags up two flights of stairs to the second floor. The beds were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was just ok with weak coffee and no bananas and if you stayed in the main building, you had to walk outside to get to the Krug Center in a conference room for breakfast. Sat by the fire pit one night too and that was nice. Overall, would probably stay again because of the convenience as we were not in the room much.

I've visited Sonoma every Feb for the past three years, and stayed at this hotel every time. The location near the square is excellent, and rooms spacious, and the individual balconies overlooking the courtyard are a great place to enjoy a glass of wine after a day touring the sonoma valley. The breakfast is ok, but given the dining options available around the square, I would give it a pass unless you are in a hurry or a budget. The fireplaces are a bit gimmicky, as they only burn duraflame logs, and only one at a time - its not really the roaring, crackling fire one imagines.
Be aware that this two story hotel does NOT have an elevator.

Room Tip: No elevator to second floor, if you have mobility issues. Also, the outside corner rooms do not hav...

Since, the Victorian Garden Inn totally disregarded my reservation and late at night, I was forced into looking for another hotel.
I found the Best Western and when I came in late and asked if they had a room, they were very accommodating!
Not only did they give me better than rack rate but a very nice room.
The room was clean, nice bed, mini fridge Nd was quite.
I would recommend coming here as it is. Hood value and run obviously by people that know what customer service is!

We just stayed here with our family (2 kids + wife and I) and we had a nice time. Rooms were really nice for a Best Western...staff was very nice and helpful. Pool was heated and they have a nice jacuzzi spa.

Breakfast was included and was okay, nothing special but acceptable.

It's convenient to the Sonoma Square...walking distance to shops, restaurants and tasting rooms.

For the money, it's an excellent value in Sonoma. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the courtyard.
