Description: Executive chef Armando Navarro's farm driven cuisine is a collection of earthy yet sophisticated, complex yet straightforward dishes that showcase the essence of seasonal produce. Chef Navarro sources his ingredients from local purveyors and nearby Sonoma farms, a commitment and dedication that is in line with El Dorado’s overall eco-friendly green initiatives.Navarro’s deeply satisfying cuisine can be enjoyed at El Dorado Kitchen. In the center of the main dining room, parties of up to 22 can gather around a 21-foot-long table fashioned from a single wood plank reclaimed from a Vermont bridge. This table is perfectly positioned to afford each diner a view of the artistic talents hard at work in the open kitchen. An outdoor courtyard allows diners to enjoy the beauty of Sonoma. Enjoy dinner under the fig trees and the clear Sonoma sky or take your lunch pool-side in your own private cabana or on one of the inviting day beds by the pool. We also offer casual dining in our lobby, nestled next to the glowing fireplace.

“Great Food, Staff Knows Their Stuff!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 9, 2014

This is one of our"go to" restaurants in Sonoma, CA. The food is so good we are having a hard time venturing out to other venues. The presentations are dramatic. The dishes are innovative. They put a "California" spin on everything. I had fried green tomatoes. Delicious and a far cry from looking like the ones I've had in Mississippi though both were tasty! The wait staff knows wine and they ask several questions about likes and dislikes and make suggestions that are on the money. Good "by the glass" selection. They have a full bar. Everything was excellent from starters through dessert. The prices are moderate to moderately high. This is a hotel restaurant so I am assuming they are open for 3 meals a day.We went for lunch. It tends to get noisy when full and talking can be difficult. We have been there in the winter. It was much quieter and we did not need reservations. This time without reservations we had to wait at least 20 minutes and this was at 1PM. You don't have to call too much in advance for reservations. But as soon as you pull into town you should give them a buzz. There is also patio dining weather permitting. They have a HUGE table where 20 people were celebrating a birthday.

“One of the best lunches I've had in years”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2014

My husband and I found this restaurant after being put-off by a three hour wait and attitude at Fig and the Girl. Hungry and cranky, we walked across the street to EDK and were very pleasant surprised. The dining room was beautiful, the server was excellent and the food was amazing. The fried green tomatoes and duck confit salad were incredible, as was the pizza special that my husband had. And like most Sonoma restaurants, the wine list was extensive. I only wish that the weather was better so that we could have sat poolside! We will gladly return to EDK on our next trip to Napa/Sonoma.

“Good Group Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2014

We had a group of 22 descend upon this pace. They gave great service and meals. In arranging the dinner, communication was great. Made for a successful celebration dinner. Special call out to Todd the waiter. Top notch service.

“Great dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2014

I was impressed all around. The drink menu was interesting and had lots of fun options. Obviously you are in wine country, but its fun to try other things. We had some fun appetizers also. The dinner menu was small - which I liked, seems like they can focus more on a few things. I had duck with a side of duck - seriously duck breast with duck confit and I couldn't have been happier. Very good atmosphere - we ate inside but the patio looked fun. The restaurant was busy and we were a group of 8 seated at the same time as another group of 8 but the service was fantastic.

“Can they replicate this place elsewhere?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 28, 2014 via mobile

If you want to taste fresh delicious dining, then EDK is the place to be. Service is phenomenal, and the food is delicious. We spent one evening here while celebrating our anniversary and the staff made it special. If you are in Sonoma, don't miss the EDK!
