“lunch at the bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

decor was french bistro feel, and we were entertained and delighted by the bartender, his history, and stories of the area. We had an excellent and much needed lunch, after hitting several wineries. Tried some more wine, and learned about the difference in wines from that region, as well as from France, that do not have the "buttery feel". I had ordered a nice and healthy salad...but my husband had a club sandwich that was just a little different, BUT included th ubiquitous french fry...which were great.
This restaurant had been recommended by all we met in San Francisco, and we were not disappointed.

“Friendliest bartender in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

Loved the bartenders and special fig drinks. We didn't want to leave after drinks, so ate at the bar. Had a terrific steak and frites, burgers excellent too.

“An excellent experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2012

We found this restaurant in a Travel magazine, and were thrilled with our experience. We had a lovely table in the shaded outdoor patio area. Our waiter, Eric, was very thorough in his knowledge of the menu, and picked out some lovely cheeses for us to start with. He answered all of our questions, made excellent recommendations, kept our wine glasses full, and was generally excellent and attentive even when the restaurant got busier. He was also personable, and chatted with us about our vacation and some similar travel plans he had coming up. The cheese plate was perfectly paired with some mustards and cured meats. My girlfriend got salmon, which was perfectly cooked and delicious. I got a burger, but in my defense it was darn good and came with carmelized onions, homemade pickle slices, terragon aioli, and a fried egg on top. We not only had an excellent meal, but an excellent experience.

“Amazing food in sonoma, ca”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012 via mobile

We stopped in Sonoma for lunch while on a wine country tour run by Extranomical Tours. The tour was incredible and was well worth the nominal cost for an all day excursion. We had lunch at the girl & the fig restaurant. The restaurant is small but very pleasant. The food is French inspired and is wonderful. We had the charcuterie platter which was as delightful in presentation as it was in taste. We did a syrah wine flight which was also delightful. If you have the chance to eat at the girl & the fig, you will not be disappointed.
