“Generously gifted to a charity auction...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

Our friends in Palo Alto won this lot "weekend break at Sonoma", and gifted it to us when we visited from Scotland in July. We very much enjoyed out stay there, generously donated by the Inn management, and would not hesitate to stay there again on a paid basis!
Perfect location to walk to the town centre for shopping or dinner, or to drive further afield and explore wine country. It was one of the highlights of out 3 weeks in California.

Room Tip: The pool was really a hot tub, but very pleasant to sit by in the sunshine!

Great hosts make for a great stay and the folks at the inn at Sonoma made a great stay for us for our 4 all too brief days in Sonoma.

The Good:
- The staff is superb
- The location is close to the plaza, but far enough to not be part of the traffic
- The rooms are fantastic, comfortable with great appointments
- The unlimited cookies & coffee, wine tasting, and the great breakfast are all included in the price

The Bad:
- We had to leave to come home...

Room Tip: There didn't appear to be a bad room in the building!

Our first visit to Sonoma was made made even more memorable with our stay at the Inn at Sonoma . Friendly staff , well designed rooms and set in nice grounds off the main road in to picturesque Sonoma Square .Only a 2-3 minute walk to the great cafes and restaurants , quaint gift shops, art galleries and wine shops all which line the tree lined town centre.
A perfect base to explore the Sonoma wineries and countryside . Plus happy hour with complimentary wine in afternoon is a nice touch .Would definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: We had a downstairs room which was fine . The rooms on second appear to have balconies if you want...

We went for a week-end with a couple of friends and we all liked this place. We stayed in the newly added superior rooms, very large, with modern furniture, large flat TVs and perfect air conditioning. Beds are very comfortable and a lot of windows provide a great natural light. The only minor drawbacks is that these rooms are close to the main street with a bit more noise. We found both the afternoon wine/cheese tasting and the breakfast very nicely presented and good. We may have a great coffee in your room or get it on the hall, together with fresh handmade cookies. Overall a great place. I am not giving a 5/5 only because of the cost that, while comparable to similar hotels in the region, is on the high side.

While we have stayed in other Napa/Sonoma towns, this was our first visit to the Town of Sonoma. The Inn at Sonoma was very friendly and comfortable. The afternoon wine tasting was a nice touch and breakfast was a first class, hot vegetarian meal. Some reviews had said the hotel was hard to find and had street noise. We experienced neither. We walked to Dinner on the square.
Looking forward to going back.

Excellent Stay at a very comfortable, classy, small, quaint hotel. The wine happy hour and snacks were a welcome treat in teh afternoon. My husband really enjoyed the cookies available throughout the day. Would definitely stay again!

Room Tip: A top level room facing the main street was nice for us.

We loved staying at this hotel! It was pleasant, great customer service and a nice location that is easily walkable to downtown. It was very relaxing and the staff was always willing to help. We loved being able to wander downtown whenever we wanted. I would absolutely stay here again!
