“Great wineries, below average biking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2012

We went on the "biking through the vineyards" tour....and probably should have saved $ and just done the wineries tour. The biking was on service roads through a vineyard and neighboring nature area. So the trail/road was rutted, dusty and bumpy. The vineyards were interesting but the "nature area" was pretty mediocre. Our guide was fine but a little self absorbed and focused on getting through the ride as quick as possible. But the wineries and tastings were excellent. One of the vineyard owners talked to us for a long time about the growing process as well as his wines. The tastings were a bit pricey ($10-15 per location) but the wines were very good across the board......also they were small wineries so it was a chance to try something different. I would recommend but next time save the biking through the vineyards....just bike between the wineries.

“The BEST way to visit vineyards.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2012 via mobile

Our tour guide, Thorn, was wonderful. We went to two lovely, small vineyards and rode through beautiful neighborhoods along the way. The ride was lesiurely but still entertaining for our 15 year old. Highly recommend!

“Convenient, Friendly and Easy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2012

We rented bikes from here and were pleasantly surprised at how easy the whole process was. For $35/day per bike, they gave us helmet, locks, and a map with a number of suggested routes and wineries to stop at. What I really enjoyed was that they recommended a nice collection of wineries - including many small, family-owned wineries that provided free tastings. Good value and, despite my allergy attack halfway through, I loved seeing the wine country from the back of a bike.

“One of the best parts of our trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2012

We had an awesome time riding over the back roads of Sonoma County. Carolyn was our guide and was fantastic! We learned a lot about viticulture and vineculture from her during the ride. We visited four wineries and all were great. They provided a yummy and filling lunch that we ate at one of the wineries. I would HIGHLY recommend doing this bike tour!

Having a guide makes it so much more enjoyable. Using some pedal power makes the tours more enjoyable. This is something that a trained athlete would enjoy or someone who just goes on a walk/ride a couple times a week (just have the mentality that it's fun and not designed to be a work-out).

Lastly, I'd recommend the Sonoma tour (you'll notice that the same company does Napa as well). Sonoma has less traffic, more low-key wineries and great scenery. Do the driving thing in Napa.

“Wonderful Helpful Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 6, 2012

We just returned from a girls' weekend in Sonoma. I've rented bikes through their sister company, Napa Valley Bike Tours in Yountville several times and have always been very happy. They share a staff and I recognized Joy who helped us last year while we were in Yountville. They are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The lunches they have catered are fabulous and the service is great. Mostly their equipment is VERY nice! We always rent road bikes which are new, tuned up, and have great gears. I highly recommend these two companies. Didn't realize that Sonoma Valley Bike Tours also did kayak trips! Next time we'll use them!
