“Fabulous Free Views!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

When visiting the SF Bay Area this is a fabulous day trip to Highway 1, specifically from Bodega Bay to Fort Ross. It is a curvy well maintained road with fabulous views at every turn. Many turnouts aford views North and South. Goat Rock and Goat Rock Beach is one of my favorites. You are at the surfline and have a beauitful beach to walk with restrooms, parking and fabulous views. Finish your drive with a fabulous dinner at The Tides in Bodega Bay. I lived in CA for 28 years and just discovered the Goat Rock this week There is so much in this area and I am always discovering new gems. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the views. Storm watching in the winter is a deligth too. Just a great place to enjoy nature and the beauty of the Pacific Ocean and California Coast with little congestion. Treat yourself to this drive during your next visit to the Bay Area!

“Gorgeous, simply gorgeous!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

This whole area has been dubbed God's Country. It is a must see if you are visiting northern California! Bring your camera and fill up your car with gas for this spectacular location, which includes beautiful beaches, camping and hiking. Tons of picture taking opportunities!

“Westside Park, Bodega Bay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

We stayed here for a weekend getaway from our kids. We had a nice time, great walk to Bodega Head, heard waves crashing at night, and quickly got used to the fog horn. What we did not like is that tent campers nearby were offended by our motorhome generator,(they applauded when we shut it down for the night), and on the morning we were going to leave, the generator wouldn't start. Later we found that someone had dis-connected the choke linkage. If people want to rough it in a tent, they should be smart enough to know there are better campgrounds for that. Camping within 30 feet of a busy road probably wasn't a good idea for them. Beware of tent campers, they think they're "special".
